THIS BOOK.

I truly did not want this story to end. That immediate five star feeling was ever present from the start and I’m happy to report it held true until the very last word. If I’m honest I would’ve read another 200 pages of these characters. I felt every emotion that Lenny felt & I’m so so happy she learned to live again 🥹

I cannot get over this story. And Miles. MILES the man that you are. You sweet angel bby I adore you! 😭🫶🏼

This story makes me happy to know it’s out in the world because of the hope it offers anyone trying to live while battling grief. I cried so many times throughout reading but was left with a smile on my face after the final page. I will absolutely be revisiting this gem many times over.

I also loved the mini tie-in to Ready or Not. Cara Bastone, you blew me away once again. I cannot wait to devour everything you put out ❤️

I really enjoyed the reality tv competition setting and the representation within this gem. These characters were such a great match and were strong on their own, and quite magical together.

I look forward to reading more from Anita Kelly ❤️

I thoroughly enjoyed being back with Vera and watching her in action as she gathered more lonesome strangers into her midst. She has such a charming way of getting people to let their guard down and open up to her.

“Her customers were a pleasant crowd, some of them regulars, the rest of them newcomers who heard about her from social media, and all of them were curious and respectful and wanted her to serve them tea based off her intuition, which is exactly how tea should be served—hot with a side of judgy but also motherly advice from Vera.”

I wasn’t expecting the dark turn this took. but honestly I didn’t mind the conversation of a very real situation being introduced. The realistic nature was well balanced to the levity of this cast of characters. The found family trope will always pull on my heartstrings and I loved it once again here.

I cannot wait for book 3! Are we going international?! 😍

I haven’t read anything by the author before and to my knowledge this was her debut romance novel. It wasn’t the worst thing I’ve read, but sadly I also didn’t care for or like this very much.

This was mid until the “conflict” which had me contemplating a dnf even at 90%. The character growth that the author was setting up or trying to anyway, only for the fmc to revert to self sabotage instead of communication was highly annoying and ruined the plot even more for me.

I also don’t understand why this sweet & thoughtful tech billionaire was head over heels for this girl in the first place🤷🏻‍♀️

Abby’s ability to discuss darker themes relevant in today’s society while still managing to craft a romance with emotional depth and humor continues to amaze me.

Izzy is the friend we all deserve. Charlotte getting to put her bat skills to use was well done. Seth being a good man and encouraging Charlotte to set down roots and create a safe space in her home. All while calling out the messed up justice system in place that doesn’t do enough for women and people in this situation. BRAVO.

I loved this short story so much!
