I know I’m not the target audience but if you go into this expecting a romcom, you’ll be throughly disappointed.

This was a mystery at its core with ghosties all around— it was cute.

A great continuation in an action packed trek across galaxies following this bunch of crazies. I am loving this ride!!

An insightful, thought provoking read about Marron’s experiences of simply having conversations with individuals that left hateful comments toward him online.

I appreciate the discussions Dylan brought to life, especially honing in on “empathy is not an endorsement”. He reminds us that having differentiating opinions and beliefs from one another does not make us any less human and how conversation with the intent on understanding can in fact, be constructive.

”Men have always been permitted in fiction and in life to simply be what they are, no matter how dark or terrifying that might be. But with a woman, we expect an answer, a reason.”

Maeve Fly is brutal, bloody & steeped in feminine rage.

If you ever wondered what would happen if Elsa took her fury out on those who wronged her instead of locking herself away in an ice castle, do yourself a favor and pick this up!

With a splash of romance and a lot of unhinged crazy sh*t going down, this book was quite the ride! The ending was not what I expected to happen & that was just the cherry on top.

"the most honest words didn't have to be loud or dramatic to cut deep."

This contemporary fiction novel reads as part suburban drama, with a dash of romance woven in. In this story we follow the Connelly's as the youngest sibling, Tara, gets released from an 18 month term in prison and is forced to reintegrate into society as well as her place within her family. Eddie, the middle born, is a hard working single dad doing his best to provide for his family after suffering from a traumatic brain injury as a young man. The eldest, Geraldine, has always been the caretaker after their mothers passing in their youth & having an absent father.

Upon Tara's return, Eddie, his son Collin, and Gerladine's routines are upended as Tara uncovers Geraldine's secret and each sibling must confront their own fractured relationships and how to grow from here.

One thing that Tracey Lange excels at is her ability to craft such complex familial relationships & brings to light their journey to healing both separately, and together.

The title itself stems from a fairytale their mother would tell giving each child their own super hero power. That ideology served a purpose, tied in with the epigraph at the start, & I loved that aspect of this book. I will say that the romance was a little too instant for me, even though there is more depth to their story.. it just felt a bit lacking. Even then, I did enjoy the character growth of each sibling and how they banded together in the end.

I truly enjoy Lange's story telling and look forward to what she puts out in the future!

Forget Me Not is an angsty, deeply passionate, & captivating romance debut!!

“You may think everything ends one day, but you haven’t had ‘everything’ with me.”

Ama is a small scale wedding planner with a skewed outlook on long term relationships & marriage due to her mother getting married more times than I can remember (it’s literally upwards of 16x). Her passion and dedication to her job is prevalent as she transforms ordinary spaces into magical & utterly romantic wedding venues.

Elliot studied architecture in college but took over his family’s florist shop after his father's passing to keep the legacy going. Although he is reserved and closed off by nature, his brilliance shines through in his craft.

When Ama is asked to plan the wedding of a reality tv star and the hired florist just so happens to be her grumpy ex, can they work through their past heartbreak to make the brides’ to be dreams come true?

I truly enjoyed this book! The romance was unique in how it featured dual timelines with Ama’s chapters in present tense, and Elliot's in the past (with exact time references that we learn the meaning of in the end).

One thing I absolutely love is when an author drops subtle hints throughout the entire book, with a reveal in the end that may not be grand in stature, but deep & meaningful all the same. I adored Elliot’s confession regarding the timeline and how it perfectly encapsulated his deep love for Ama.

The more I think on it, the more I fall in love with this story and these characters. I already see myself revisiting this book before long & I cannot wait to relive it all💓

what to expect—
angst
forced proximity
slow burn
grumpy x sunshine
second chance
he falls first
a secret tattoo
dual timelines
spicy good times

Rebecca Ross tells such a lush, captivating, & deeply romantic story with Divine Rivals.

"your letters have been a light for me to follow. your words? a sublime feast that fed me on days when I was starving."

This story reads as a light urban fantasy with a historical setting and tells the tale of a quiet love found amidst a war between gods. It may sound far fetched to some but Ross expertly brings this story to life! I found the slow burn love to be romantic, without being over the top or cheesy which I think is saying something when it comes to young adult novels.

The fantasy aspect is very mild, and is easy to follow while also giving toward the plot. Nothing felt unnecessary or out of place which I felt was refreshing.

The ending really had me gasping out loud so I will try to wait patiently for the Fairyloot edition of Ruthless Vows.
