Okay that ending has me shook & ready to pick up book 2! The way the very last line had me gasping out loud!!!

I’m excited to see what happens next 😍😍

I guess we’re all going to hop, skip and do a cute little jump over the brazen similarities between this & not only The Hunger Games but a specific plot point in Harry Potter and The Goblet of Fire, huh??

Don’t get me wrong, this story was easy to read and pretty enjoyable but the copy + paste was a bit much & too heavy handed for me. Don’t even get me started on how many times the word “Plagues” was used as a curse!! 🙄😵‍💫

Am I still going to read the sequel? Absolutely. Hopefully it’s more original and less “coincidentally” the same as other prominent storylines.

So do with this review as you will 🤷🏻‍♀️

I really enjoyed this MC romantic suspense/murder mystery from Miss Devney! It was heavier on the mystery than the romance, but I didn’t mind that one bit.

My only complaint is the plot point at 75% in felt entirely unnecessary to the story itself, but I still had a great time reading this.

I still very much look forward to continuing on with this series.

This is my second read from this author, the first being The Wife Upstairs which I thoroughly enjoyed, & I'm happy to say that this was another win in my book!

Told in multiple POV's, we primarily follow Camden, Jules & Ruby. Ruby, the late Heiress' sections are strictly in an epistolary format sprinkled in here & there as letters recounting her life written to an unknown individual. Camden is Ruby's adopted son and the sole heir to Ruby's inheritance. Jules, the third POV, is Camden's wife who just might be harboring some secrets of her own.

The Heiress is an engaging, entertaining, & edge of your seat ride that will keep you turning pages!!

I honestly felt like this book was a dash of The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo with Riley Sager mixed in so if that appeals to you, definitely pick this up!!

If I took a shot every time the FMC said the phrase “for the love of Vikings”, I still wouldn’t be drunk enough to get past all the icks.

Just as action packed, unhinged and enjoyable as the previous volumes in the series. There were quite a few heart wrenching moments and I even teared up which wasn’t expected.

The slur in the end from Alana was unnecessary, so I couldn’t justify giving this a full 5 stars.
