First thank you to Elliott Rose and Luna literary for a chance to read this book in exchange for a review. Im always thankful to be chosen, but especially glad to receive a book from the E.R. team :") While i did receive a digital arc for free, i also chose to purchase the audiobook to read along with! very worth it, amazing performance.
As a non-dark romance girly, i loved this book. I loved this book way more than vengeful gods, actually. This particular book had less dub con/cnc in it than vengeful gods, and im almost positive thats why i enjoyed this more.
There were certainly parts that i had to pause to collect myself, or to just push through, but for the most part, this was awesome. Even with those scenes, Rose does a good job at writing them...in a respectful way? Thats the only way i can think to explain how it felt. Please understand its a high heat dark romance book, mmfm, etc. Lots of sex scenes, before ppl complain about that 😂 Read the triggers first before diving in because you get literally everything with this book you would expect. I knew what i was going to see getting into this, and just accepted that i LOVE elliott roses' writing so much it would be worth any moments of being uncomfy i faced and i was super correct on that.
Poe was lovely. She was strong, determined, never came across as weak minded or any other annoying trait i often find with girls who are thrown into secret societies or mafia type settings. I loved her so much. Her men were also so delectable omg. I was almost crying when we saw the messages from Angel 😭 I think Poe's men were more down bad for her than in the previous book, which i love. Who doesn't love a pathetic man in love lmao 🧍♀️ Total touch her and die vibes, and then actually just following through. I loved observing and learning the love languages of all of her men. They truly loved her so much.
My only wish was that we got some type of sword cross between Hawke and Grey
beyond the slight scene we had , but honesty what we did get.... was still fun. Also the 🩸 scene... awoke something in me. I cant explain it.
Its really hard for me to say more about the book without gushing spoilers, but what i will say is check out some of the spoiler free comments/reviews and give this book a chance! Even if you dont really like dark romance, if you want a spicy book with some down bad men.... this is for you.

Cole Ashby the man that u are wowie. Come and Ginger we’re sooo destined to be perfect. I loved watching them fight their attraction - that fuck it moment is always so worth it. I actually wasn’t expecting Vegas at all so that was also a surprise!

Soft DNF….. it’s not bad but it’s way too much angst and drama for me. Not enjoying how it’s just all sad and stuff so far. Love Emily’s books usually, maybe I’ll return to finish.
