This definitely took me a bit to get into. I felt like I was on the other side of fog for probably the first two parts. Halfway through things start to become clearer and you understand the world more and more. I read a lot of fantasy where the first hundred pages are all about world building. However in Piranesi, all you learn about are the halls and number system he developed. I liked that it was written as journal entries. But maybe because this is in a style of writing that I don’t read much of… or maybe it’s too clever for my brain to wrap around,  don’t see what others did that gave this 5stars. 

I wasn’t a fan of some of the repetitious elements but I enjoyed the mystery aspect and how information is slowly revealed as the puzzle pieces fell into place. I did feel at the end there were a lot of loose ends as some things don't get fully explained. 

Piranesi is a beautiful soul that cares for all he meets. Because of this he is manipulation and forgets himself while in a world he calls home. 

 

This might not be for everyone( I’m still not even sure if it was for me) but if you're up for a strange, mystical tale, give this short book a go. It’s interesting, thought provoking and in all mysterious in a magical way. Not at all what I was expecting when I heard fantasy read! 

I read and listened to the audiobook. The audiobook was a better experience in my opinion and I think that actually helped me get into the story more! Which makes me feel like this would transfer to film well! 

I’m really happy that I decided to read this before jumping into a Throne of Glass! I feel like there’s a lot of world building that happens throughout this which will only help me with future world building throughout the series. There is going to be a reason for these five Novellas to happen before Throne of Glass and I can’t wait to see why! I which more authors did this kind of backstory! Character reasoning, character development, and plot lines throughout the series will probably be touched within these five Novellas! 

I don’t know why there’s so much hate for this book on bookstagram, but I very much enjoyed it!

The ending ripped out my heart and I was not ready for it but I know like there is a reason for us to see that played out this way! I cannot wait to dig into the rest of the series and be more a part of this world.

Emily Hendry is 100% an instant buy author when she writes a new book! I absolutely adore her writing! I love how she builds her characters, the banter, and how the story plays out. Last year I read, Beach Read, and this year I plan on reading People We Meet On Vacation, as well as Happy Place!

Nora and Charlie are career driven people who don’t believe that they’ll ever have a happy ever after. So they avoid it, push it aside at let other things be their focus. That is until they meet each other in the most unlikely way. I really liked that they didn’t have that ‘move to a small town from the city to have your HEA’ story line!! They are still those beautifully career driven people, but now they have each other! They can handle all of their past and present and future, while following their dreams together!

This book definitely stood the test of time of the last 10 years!

This was a re-read for me, and to be honest I didn’t remember a lot of this series. When I did my reread of The Mortal Instruments, there was so many moments that I remembered, and could visualize from the first time I read them.

I really loved diving in the this story. Especially this last book!! If there is some thing that Cassandra Clare can do well, it’s ending a series! This was by far the best book of this series. The first two fell a little short for me at times, but I love the characters so I continued my reread, and knew I wasn’t going to be disappointed! 

That ending was really trying to rip out my heart! And I loved that I reread The Mortal Instruments before this because there are so many moments at the end of this series that tie in to that series as well! If you were doing a reread of this series or the mortal instruments I’ll definitely recommend them as audiobooks. I think they will produce and that it’s such a wonderful way to re-introduce yourself to this world!

I cannot believe this book came out 20 years ago! And that I read it then! 

This is a perfect book for teens! I’ll always love youth adult fiction and I bet you if I rated this when I originally read it, I would have given it a higher rating. As it has adolescent and young voice to it I didnt connect to it the same way I did originally. Im going to continue my reread of this series and sit with knowing that I loved it when I was younger. I know the story grows as the characters do and this was one of my favourite series when it was originally published!

If you know a teen that loves historical fiction with a little bit of magic, this is the series for them!

This book was definitely focussed on character development! We see a lot of backstory behind a lot of the characters Which I turn helps us see why they are the way they are.  Relationships get more developed between most of the characters as well. Besides, the large similarities between the main characters in this series, and the main characters of the Mortal Instruments I do really feel like there are some big differences throughout the characters as well which help keep the series apart. Now am I a fan of love triangles, questionable, but does it work in the series? Totally. 

I have read this series in the past and I’m doing a reread, but to be honest, there isn’t much that I remember of this series! I still think the Mortal Instruments is my favourite of the two.

My only negative is they say that Shadowhunters don’t have the same societal norms that follows the current time period, but a major theme throughout the books is that women are the gentler of the sexes, and cannot be trusted like men can. I feel like that’s very much not normal for Shadowhunters, and if they’re so different, why do they view women in such a helpless way???? 

That being said, am I going to read Clockwork Princess, 100%. These are comfort reads at their finest!! 

Being my second graphic novel I’ve ever read, I am very much enjoying the story! Obviously, very different from novels, and by the time I get to the end of each of these volumes, I feel like it’s gone by so fast that I need to read it again! But I guess that’s the best part about graphic novels, you read them so fast that you can read them multiple times to fully enjoy them and absorb all of the beautiful artwork! 

Definitely recommend this series and know I will read them multiple times this year!  I’m going to have to hunt down some prints for my favourite pages! That’s how much I love the artwork 😍

The Happy Ever After Playlist is still my ultimate Abby Jimenez book! It was one of my five star reads last year! Life‘s too Short definitely checked all my romcom book needs! And I devoured this in a couple of days!

I find with Abby Jimenez books she kind of pulls you in from beginning to end and you feel every emotion along side the MCs! And the dual POV is always superior! Abyy really knows how to write a book that touches on real life issues and creating hope with in the pain around those issues! 

BUT we always have that HEA at the end no matter the issue that is being worked through. Which is why we read these books in the first place to create sadness, then hope, then joy! At least that’s why I read romcoms!! 

I will always pick up anything Abby Jimenez writes! She is an instant buy for me!

I absolutely loved A Shadow in the Ember! It was one of my five star reads last year! I even listened to the audiobook to prepare me for the second installment, which was also a five star read. My reread as an audiobook is very much recommended if you need to reread in your life! 

I was really excited to jump into A Light in the Flame, so it was my first book of the year! I read a lot of reviews that say this is dull in the middle BUT this being a trilogy!!!! I think the middle book is always going to be a little slower of a read. But that’s just me! It’s setting up the third and final book of the trilogy and getting everyone prepared for the roller coaster ride that WILL happen in the third book. 

I know it’s going to happen and I’m going to pick up the book and read it the day it comes out!! I just love this world. The characters are well developed, and I love all of the side characters as much as I love the main characters! I think thats something that Jennifer L Armentrout does really well, her side characters are there for the story, just as much as the main characters. Their lives and storylines are just as important!

We all know cliffhangers are the bane of every bookworms existence, but this cliffhanger is everything! I know just like this book the third installment is going to start exactly where we finish and I’m here for it! I cannot wait to see where the story goes!
