Jack brings Rapunzel to the city, where he hopes to impress her with this city sophistication and help restore his mother's bakery. But nothing goes according to plan when mysterious ant people attack the city, and the giants take over the police force!
Another rollickly adventure full of magic and hilarious dialogue! I love the continuing romance and friendship between Jack and Rapunzel, as well as the addition of various supporting characters.
The colorful illustrations, the fast paced adventure, and the imaginative and magical world, all made me love every page of this story!

Hilda is a curious little girl, who goes out exploring through the countryside and encounters a water spirit, a troll, and a massive giant. Navigating the world of these magical creatures isn’t as easy as she thought, but with the help of a mysterious wooden man, Hilda learns to adapt and live in tune with the mountain world.
I loved the magical setting of the mountains and rocks and rivers with mythical creatures around every corner!
Hilda is an engaging and beautiful character. I love her curiosity and adventurous spirit! She is smart and determined, and I completely fell in love with her story.
The writing does a wonderful job of saying a great deal in just a few words, giving this short graphic novel a lot of depth and development.

Kitty Hawk is visiting Iceland, and staying with a kind Icelandic family who work to find clean energy solutions. Kitty is excited to experience all the beauties of Iceland, touring around Reykjavik, swimming in hot springs, and flying over the enormous icefields. But she becomes entangled with the rising hostilities between violent environmentalists and corrupt aluminum companies, and must unravel the mysteries of the Viking legends and the mystical Hidden People (Icelandic elves and trolls) if she wants to escape and help her friends to save Iceland from the greed of foreign corporations.
Once again, I adore Kitty's character. She is courageous and resourceful, with a boundless curiosity about everything. She tries weird foods, marvels at each new spectacle of nature, and listens to the history and legends with an open mind that loves to learn about other cultures. I love how she talks to herself, and how easy it is for her to make friends wherever she goes.
I love the beautiful Icelandic setting! The authenticity of the whole reading experience of Iceland is in the details of history and culture. I was inspired to look up more facts about Iceland and learn for myself about the things that make this country so special. I love that the writing really puts the reader into the environment of the Icelandic community.
In the book, Kitty eats a type of Icelandic food called "skyr" (which is similar to yogurt, but NOT yogurt!), and of course, I had to try to find some. The best I could do was an American yogurt that is supposedly "inspired" by Icelandic skyr. It was delicious! Too bad I couldn't find the real thing.
Kitty Hawk would not be Kitty Hawk if there wasn't a wild and crazy adventure! This whole book is non-stop action with plenty of mystery and plot twists. Volcanic eruptions, kidnapping, flash floods, and explosions are peppered throughout the story. I was certainly never bored!
I have completely fallen in love with Kitty Hawk's stories, and I feel a little guilty for replacing my first reading love, Nancy Drew. But there's room for them both in my heart! haha!

This is my least favorite book in the series, but still a good one.
No point in reviewing this. It's perfectly wonderful, of course!
This book is full of encouragement and Scripture, along with practical tips for feeling happier each day. I really liked the way that the author describes different "happiness styles" according to personality, and the basic building blocks of happiness for every person. It's well-written, and the information is organized in an accessible way that makes it easy to read. The writing style is funny and heart-felt, bringing the reader into a warm embrace.
I enjoyed reading this book, and found a lot of real and true encouragement in Christ!

Yua is dating her high school teacher, and when her grandmother dies, she has nowhere to go, so she marries her teacher, but he has a secret past that will threaten their married bliss.
This manga is just so ridiculously silly that I ended up loving it! I mean, the whole situation of marrying a teacher is already fraught with impossible scenarios, and this manga takes it to a whole new level of hilarious drama.
I loved the gorgeous art style, and simple school setting. The characters are very dramatic and moody, as they sulk and sneak and whisper secrets. Emotions are flying high on every page, and Yua is in tears in every chapter.
I enjoyed reading it so much, and I can't wait to grab the next volumes!

I love the ending! This whole manga is so hilarious and fun!
A perfect ending to this magical series! I am, as always, enchanted with Valente's writing style, and surprised by the plot twists, and utterly in love with every character!
I don't understand why the GoodReads description says "A-Through-L and Saturday devise a Royal Race... in which every outlandish would-be ruler of Fairyland will chase the Stoat of Arms across the whole of the nation..."
That's completely opposite to what actually happens in the book! No one chases the Stoat of Arms, and it is NOT A-L or Saturday who think up the race. That makes no sense. Who wrote this description?
One of the best things, of course, is all the little bits of wisdom and philosophy peppered through the story. There's a sweet pathos and melancholy through all the series.
It was heart-wrenching to feel with all these characters that I've learned to love through all the previous books, and know their relationships and friendships with each other. Now that they've been through so much, and grown together, and learned to understand one another; now a separation is threatening them, and it breaks my heart to see how afraid they are to live without each other.
Saturday keeps thinking, "If we win, she will stay." He's entirely focused on making a way for September to stay with him. The pain of losing someone you love and care about is a universal pain, no matter your age. Fear of that pain can drive us to do some strange things, as this story shows.
But as with all fairy tales, we get a happy ending. And I was surprised and delighted with the conclusion!
I felt like the race went on too long though. Some of the race felt like story filler, and then I wished that some other areas of the story had more time.
Tam and Hawthorne and Blunderbuss are back, and as zany and wild as ever. Tam and Hawthorne have such good hearts, they just want to help other changelings to have a better life.
A-L and Blunderbuss actually become close friends, and it was really funny seeing their interactions!
I'm so sad that this series is over, but I know I'll be rereading them again sometime, and enjoying them even more.

Hilda's home is attacked by disgruntled elves. These invisible little people are determined to force Hilda and her mother to move away, and Hilda is just as determined to make peace with them, and maybe befriend them. At the same time, a massive giant as big as a mountain appears near Hilda's home every evening at midnight, staring around and then disappearing into the night. It will take all Hilda's ingenuity and courage to solve the mystery of the giant, and achieve peace with the little elves.
I love it so much! Hilda and her mother are amazing and quirky and fantastic. Beautiful artwork, imaginative story, and a crazy world of magical creatures all make this series so special.
I can't wait to read more from this series!
