I usually don't like retellings of the old classics, but oh wow! This book is amazing! The basic plot and some characters of Persuasion are so seamlessly worked into the new plot and sci-fi setting that it feels like a brand-new beautiful story. Sometimes the characters will have the same actions as the old plot, but their motivation is different, with the same result. It's just brilliantly written, and I can't wait to read more books by this author!

Agh, my heart is broken. What a marvelous book! Fascinating writing with an indescribable magic to it. Tears your heart out and stomps all over it, but you love every minute.

Amazing book! I absolutely love it! The plot combines elements of all the best fairy tales into a fantastical and complex story about family loyalty, courage, respect, and strength, and the dangers of crossing into the Other Kingdom of magic. Completely enchanting, and beautifully written!

Although.... some bits are very dark and might be disturbing to young readers. Definitely a book for older teens or adults.

Loved this book! I adore the Regency era anyway, and this was a fun twist on things. I liked the letters writing style too. It never got boring or frustrating to have the letter form, because the plot moved forward smoothly. Can't wait to get my hands on the next one!
