This book was much slower for me than book 2 but it was still very enjoyable. It gave me Alice in Wonderland vibes with the maze portion and Lorcan's weird way of answering questions in riddles. It was a cute and fun way to spin this story into something more. 

I really enjoyed the banter between The Grim Reaper and Elijah. I loved that they were fated and how she really was not sure about her love for him at first. As the story unravels you learn more about how Elijah has been embedded in Death's life. 

The ending...of course...was a twist I did not expect and left on a cliffhanger. I can't wait to see where this story will lead in the future. I am intrigued to see whatever happened with Jasper after he was tricked and poisoned to sleep. There is still so much story left and it is such a fun retelling in so many differeny ways.

I love the FMC's character and her personality. I think that she had great chemistry with the MMC and was so glad this was their love story. I think that Malik is my favorite character of this series. He is broody. He is calculated. And he will make sure he has every single painting that the FMC paints to himself. I love that he has made the FMC feel like he hated her for the greater good, but deep down he is so in love with her. 

The scene where she tricked him and ran past him into his bedroom only to find it wall to wall with her paintings was so great! It solidified her feelings for him knowing that he reciprocated those feelings.

I was not expecting the leader of the dragons to be Lord Griffith. I also was not expecting Malik to pretend to be the leader for the dragons in order to lure the real leader out. But the way the author wrote it, I really thought Malik was the leader of the dragons for a few pages. Well done.

This book had a unique storyline. I had a difficult time enjoying the storyline because I do not find triathlons exciting. I do not follow cycling, running or swimming in real life so it kind of was boring to me. However, the author did a GREAT job of researching and following a life of athletes in these sectors and what it takes to be an athlete of this stature. 

I did love the FMC and MMC and their story lines. It followed two people with domestic abuse issues and grief issues and how they overcame these obstacles. Some of the side characters were very flat and I was not sure why they were mentioned so often, except that they were connected to the FMC. 

I loved the love story and the spicy content was really good! For someone who wanted to stay casual, he sure was a cinnamon roll!
