I really wanted to give this book a higher rating. I felt for what the main character is going through with her mother. I wanted more chapters about Leigh and her mother and her father and her grandparents.

While a good chunk of this book is about family it is also about Leigh and her love interest and I just didn't care. Every single time the focus was back on them it took me out of the story.

This book had so much potential. If it wasn't so romance based and the ending was completely different, I believe this book would have been amazing.
Now while I didn't love this book it has some interesting stuff. I really like the chapters about the queens and I wished we could have focus more on them.

This book had some great moments. My favorites were when we got to see Cinder and Thorne together. Their banter made me laugh out loud sometimes.
Unfortunately, I didn't like Scarlet all that much. I just found her to be annoying and so damn stubborn. When someone is telling you something, why don't you listen?
I would say that I like her relationship with Wolf. It was very brief but very intense.
