Thank you Rebecca for a chance to read an advanced copy of this novella.!
The character building was there for me, I think it made me that much more invested because I truly felt for the characters and their struggles and when things went to hell.
Plus, we added a little spice into horror and I AM HERE FOR IT !
Synopsis:
After the loss of her father, Deidra finds herself in a lacklustre life she didn’t ask for, and putting an indefinite hold on her dreams. Caring for her mother and running the family antique store, she has no time for herself.
The one day she takes a trip to their family cabin, Deidra unearths something that’s been hidden for over 8 years, and a dark secret from the past. Putting herself and those she loves in danger.
I’m going to shelf it for now.
The fact that each part isn’t broken up into chapters is daunting. And I’m not feeling long sections right now.

Honestly, each beginning chapter ‘introduces’ the characters but yet. You don’t know who is being introduced and what you’re supposed to be learning. It’s all I’ve the place.
Here’s where I learn that just because I like the synopsis and the cover doesn’t mean the book is going to be enjoyable.

Thank you N.T. Morris for the eARC of your upcoming novel Elmwood.
After going through a traumatic experience, Aidan is struggling. So in order to help him, and their marriage, Aidans wife Laura suggest they take a trip to relax. She made all the arrangements to this beautiful lake house in a small town called Elmwood. A small town where everyone knows everyone. A town where something soon starts to seem off, and dark. Is it just Aidan, or is there something else going on?
Okay okay okay.
I was left SPEECHLESS at this debut novel by @n.t.morris
The only reason why I didn’t finish this in one day is because it got dark outside, annnnnnd I was too scared to continue.
Small town secrets vibes, rental house with a not so secret spooky past, nightmares.
Everything for your perfect season book! Recommend to horror lovers who want a little bit of everything.

A strange man stops at the Bakery Riley works at with a strange request. Asking for bread made with one particular strange ingredient.
This was a great little short story, that left me saying uhmmm what? I think it would be a great short story for English Class to be able to analyze. Also defiantly could be made into a book!

Lilith and Nate, youtubers are zombie movie fanatics and escapists fantasizers. But when a real zombie uprising happens, they quickly realize those zombies they have come to know in their movies aren’t like the zombies on the street. It looks like something darker is lurking beyond their reach.
Okay, I really wanted to like this book but I had a hard time keeping track as it jumps back and forth so much without warning and because it’s all the same characters it takes a minute to realize what timeline you’re on.
Other than that the story was good, although personally I’m starting to tire of the online personalities tropes although its not a huge part in this story.

Teenagers Jane and Henry are outcasts, after their father has been convicted and sent to prison for being a serial killer. Only thing is, their father claims to have been framed. When a true crime podcast comes to town Henry finds friendship with homeschool Otis, a true crime fanatic, that learns about henrys father and … believes he’s innocent.
As the opioid epidemic grows, a young officer eager to move up in the ranks believes there’s something more to this than meets the eye.
Where to begin? The main characters in this story were beyond lovable and my heart also broke for them. The author built a world where you’re looking on the other side of the true crime, the effects it has on the family. It was different to see especially if you’re like me and have a fascination for true crime.
