Thank you @NetGalley for this audio ARC copy of #ShoulderSeason.

Shoulder season follows Sherri, as small town girl who on a whim decides to interview for a position as a Bunny at a Playboy Resort. We follow her  as she grows and learns and tries to reinvent herself.

Okay wow, I wasn’t expecting to enjoy this book as much as I did. I applied to read this book on a whim because I was in the mood for summer read. What I found was a story I could not stop listening until it was over.

This book covers love, loss, friendships and the repercussions of the choices we make.

We able to see the growth of Sherri and what the outcome of the choices she made in her later years, seeing both sides to this gave me a complete feeling.

How far will you go to protect someone you love?
After a violent attack, Nicks family will do anything to protect him.

Okay, wow. This book started off quickly and hit heavy topics very fast.
This slow burn tells the story while weaving between 2015 and 2019. This book covers “taboo” topics and explores the emotional impact and damage to a victim and their family after a traumatic experience.

This book took me a little longer to read because of the tough subject matter, however it is very relevant in todays society.

With the ending you didn’t see coming, I highly recommend this book.

Thank you @NetGalley for the eARC in exchange for my honest review of #TheTimePieceAndTheGirlWhoWentAstray

Will goes out to find the perfect birthday present for his watch loving fiancée, however he gets more than he bargains for when the timepiece he gives her makes her disappear.

Soon Will finds himself wanted for murder he didn’t commit and for the disappearance of his fiancée, and being hunted down for the watch that was meant for his fiancée.

I originally clicked on this book because the cover colour reminded me of Doctor Who, then I applied because of the synopsis.

The book picked up speed very quickly. There were times where I questioned something’s said throughout the book but it all ended up tying into one another beautifully.

The only reason I found myself getting a little bored at times is the overboard on some description throughout, almost every last detail was described and not leaving much to the imagination.

Overall the author did a wonderful job to build a world that expanded over many decades in a small time frame and left me wanting more at the end.

Thank you @NetGalley for the advanced copy of #Falling in exchange for my honest review.

You put your life in the hands of the pilot flying your plane. But what you don’t know if thirty minutes before this, the pilots wife and children were kidnapped.

The pilot is given two options.
Save his family or save everyone on the plane.

I’m going to be totally honest, this isn’t the kind of book I would go out a choose. However the synopsis had me interested and I am SO glad I didn’t pass this over.

Falling was written by a former flight attendant for Virgin America, she was able to bring the employees on that plane to life.

This book took me on a wild ride, it felt like a movie playing in my head. I was invested in these characters and the pilots choice. There were a lot of references from things that have happened in our world that makes it that much more believable.

This high stakes book is with its shooter chapters allows you to completely invest in the wellbeing of the pilots family and all the souls on board.

ade, a slasher film fanatic and *almost* high school graduate is convinced her little lake town is Idaho has now become what she’s always dream, a real live slasher film. Bodies are found shortly after construction begins across the lake, but they’re told they were bear attacks.

I almost didn’t finish this book a number of times.
Which is sad because by the synopsis I REALLY wanted to like this book. However nothing really …. Happens. Well at least until the last couple chapters and even then the build up was not worth it to me.

I will give kudos because of the horror movie knowledge and some interesting backstory of the local lore. Other than the essay notes  at the end of the unnecessarily long chapters I found myself lost more times than I can count.

Overall, if you’re already a of the authors work then you will enjoy this as it is similar in style to the others. But this just wasn’t for me.

think I can finally find the words.

In this story we follow MC August, raised by a single mom to be your average Veronica Mars meets Nancy Drew, who wanting to distance herself from that PI lifestyle her mom has raised her on has moved to New York.

August finds an apartment with three other people, she happens on a job at her roommates Thursday regular diner, and she has her train schedule all mapped out. She’s prepared for everything, until Jane…

Let's mix in displaced 70s lesbian, bi MC with anxiety and find true love shall we? With the eccentric cast of side characters. This book gives you a hit of gay history lesson, chosen family and finding long lost family. About finding a home where you didn’t expect to, about finding love lost in time.

One Last Stop has been hands down one of my top five for the year, it was funny, sad, heart warming. I could easily turn around and start listening to this book all over again for enjoy every moment like it was the first.

The first part of the book I got through without incident, I like it but didn't love it. Then BAM everything went left field and I didn't want to stop reading it. I am a big fan of Grady Hendrix and this book did not disappoint.

Originally published in 2017, this year it will not be published in English!

I’ll be totally honest, this book was a slow start for me. I couldn’t figure out the direction the story was going, it felt like too may ways and too many players.

Oh gosh was I wrong, every character is placed so well through the entire book. I did not see what was coming.

The author has a wonderful way that allows you to feel for these characters and equally hate (some) at the same time.

Although I was left with some questions, I was satisfied with the ending.

I have NEVER been so confused but not able to stop because I needed to know where this story was taking me.

I thought this was pretty straight forward and had it all figured out. Until everything took I twist which lead me to reading over half the book today just to finish.

I have to say that at first I found it hard to follow but was quickly able to figure out, or so I thought, the differences in characters.

Another book I’m excited to see published.
