.. Well, I came. I read. I conquered. 
and now I'm not sure what to do with myself.
Did I like it? It was very well written. Some content was rough on me, so please check content warnings.

This was an interesting read, there’s so much I didn’t know how the deep sea and Helen was able to explain things in a way it was enjoyable and easy to understand.

WOW. I’ve seen this book floating around, and it’s one people have been saying to keep a look out for this upcoming release. I was lucky enough to receive this eARC and was NOT disappointed. This haunting story has secrets, twists and turns.

Set in a small town in Ontario, a Métis community has been telling their children to watch out for the Rogaru, they all have one. Is it just a story elders tell the children or is there more to the story? 

I don’t think Cherie can write something I won’t enjoy. The mixture of Indigenous lore and real life issues Indigenous and Métis face is real is this one.

While I can appreciate where the author was heading with this book and the message they were trying to convey, it felt almost too all over the place all while being organized… if that makes sense?

I don’t even have thoughts. I just need to second one ASAP. 

When I started this I was thinking more along the lines for he TV show. 

This was just annoying characters, where somethings didn’t age well even when the book was written in 2014. Maybe a teenager could click more with this book, but the MC was not for me. 

I like the synopsis and concept of this book but I found my attention wandering and lacking, sometimes details were almost too much for my.  I would definitely recommend for someone who is a fan of SKs writing and that’s what I could most closely compare it to.  

The story was good enough but nothing sticks out for me about it.

Amanda Montell takes through the history of some important words, well some more so than others.

This book solidified why I love Amanda Montell. She explains things in a way it’s enjoyable and easy to understand for the reader. The humour she adds is the perfect added touch. 

“Since when was love so damn destructive? For years, I had believed that monsters deserved love. That humans and monsters could be together.”

I cannot get enough of the Creature Cafe, this one was up there for my favourites, FF romance with some kinks.
