They were all willing to believe in the existence of an animal they'd never seen before but they weren't willing to believe it could think and reason.

This one was only on my radar because @book.club.bitches told me about it.
This is the kind of thriller I enjoy, gotta have some horror in it. Add in some creatures and isollation. Perfect.

I’m not sure how I missed the part about it being a mother but I am not the intended audience for this book. While I found the book beautifully written I couldn’t connect to anything happening.

β€œBecause slashers never really die. They just go to sleep for a few years.”

QUICK RUNDOWN πŸ‘€
Jennifer Daniels has just gotten out of prison, and has made it back to her hometown in time for a major snowstorm. Then kids start dying, could it be the serial killer that has miraculously escaped or something more?

FINAL THOUGHTS πŸ’
Thank you NetGalley for this eARC in exchange for my honest review.
I needed a day to get my thoughts together on this one. It was THAT GOOD. Slasher references aside this is a story of friendship. The different POVs were a refreshing change from the first book, and the questions I am left with are perfect lead ups to book three.
MY ONE GRIPE, the chapter lengths. The chapters were unnecessarily long, with changing POVs multiple times throughout.

β€œThe wild magic that had flowed through the veins of every single person in my family dating back untold generations, had, apparently, skipped over me. And my father was obsessed with finding the reason why.”

I picked this book up in preparation to read the new one as I’ve received an eARC. All I can say why did I wait this long to read it?!

Cozy, queer, mysterious, shifters… oh my!

This one has left me sitting going, wow.
Donor 150 is what he was called, but this story is so much deeper.
This is a story about trauma, love, hope, memories.

β€œMen come first, men go first.
It's a fact.”

I didn't hate this book, but I didn't love it.
It was a fairly quick read, funny and real life issues are included.
Would I have read it if it wasn't for Haileys BINGO? No.

Why did I sit with this book for so long?! The cover alone should have told me enough.
This story was beautiful, the world building was such that I wasn’t left lost it incorporated completely into the story with characters I loved and some I loved to hate. I can’t wait to get my hands on the second of this duology.

β€œAs we duel, as we chat, there's an understanding that "your black is not my black" and "your weird is not my weird" and "your beautiful is not my beautiful," and that's okay. It' brings tears to my eyes if I think about it too long.”

During the day Keira is one of the only black students in her school, but by night she is the creator of a whole other world called SLAY.
But when real word and the other world collide accusations are made and Keira has to make choices she didn’t think she would need to.

What a hard hitting debut novel. This YA novel has it all, strong Black Females, modern day video game systems, very real social issues. At times this book made me uncomfortable which is great, some topics should. Highly recommend.

Thank you NetGalley for this eARC of Paper Planes.

After one bad choice sends Leighton and Dylan to summer camp we see the growth of each person. We also see the choices that lead to where they are now.

This is a great graphic novel for young people, it features a lot of topics and feelings teenagers may feel and relate to. I would personally love a sequel to see how Leighton and Dylan fair out.
