This was rated for adults. This would have been something teenage me would have read.
Not want adult me was hoping.

“Why are all our fathers these sick, power-hungry psychopaths?”
Quick Summary
The final book to the four book series, Boys of Bellerose.
Final Thoughts
This series took me in right away but as the series went on it became very evident to me that there are two authors. I found myself like some parts of the book and series and not so much others. I think if this was a single author writing this series and took it on. I would have enjoyed it better. Also the mafia part... well male mafia part was not it.

“Your child doesn’t owe you loyalty or obedience. You owe your child love and understanding, owe it unconditionally, and if you love them strongly enough, eventually that love may be returned.”
Quick Summary
A virus that causes you to forget how to live has ravaged the world. But deep in the Marianas Trench there are a small group of people working to find a solution, when they go AWOL and its up to two people to take the trip down and see what is happening down there.
Final Thoughts
This one had my skin crawling as soon as they descended under water. There was so much jam packed into this I did find myself lost on some points because there is a lot going on.

“What if, for some of us, moving on involves finding good in the bad? Or being thankful for how we changed? That doesn't mean we wished it to happen.”
Quick Summary
Five women who have been through separate traumatic events meet in a basement in present day New York for a support group of sorts to help them deal with their events.
Final Thoughts
The modern day fairytale retellings were okay, but I am not sure what I expected I just know I was looking for more. The characters honestly bugged me, especially Ruby and her coat. I get the traumatic events and what not for the story but it just wasn't it for me.

“A snowball in the face is surely the perfect beginning to a lasting friendship.”
Quick Summary
With Death as your narrator you are taken on a journey of a story that will make you laugh, make you angry and make you cry.
Final Thoughts
I'll be completely honest. At first I didn't think I was going to enjoy this book. It started out in the way where I'm like okay just get through it for your challenge. But it quickly became so so much more. This entire story had be in such a vice grip I had to just sit and think once it was finished. The story has so many layers inter woven, I can't believe it took me this long to read it.

This one didn't have my attention, I mean it did when at the beginning but I quickly lost interested and I'd have to say out of all the books I've read by this author this one is my least fave.
“I think when we finally get what we think we want, it loses its value. It's the secret nobody ever shares, because if they did, we would all stop trying.”
Quick Summary
News reader Anna Andrews just received terrible news that her job she held for two years is not longer there as the woman she replaced has come back. She's then sent to the site of a murder in Blackdown, where she finds out there's more than just a simple murder story to cover.
Final Thoughts
Alice Feeney does not disappoint. This has my second fave book by her, first one being Daisy Darker. I don't want to tell you how many guesses I had for the whodunnit. I was correct at ONE point through the book then I changed lanes. It's a twist I've read before but I preferred it like this vs. in the other one I've read.

"That was the problem with these ordinary monsters, they wore no clues to their true natures."
Quick Summary
Adams girlfriend left for a work trip to Barcelona and never returned. This lead to a string of events that brought more questions than answers. Adam then has to decide what lengths he wants to go to in order to get those answers.
Final Thoughts
I can honestly say this book had me so confused, and I found myself asking multiple times how in the world is this connected. Overall I did enjoy the story... for the most part. I feel like it was not as shocking of an ending as I was hoping like the first book I read by this author.

“Never forget: the same gift they praise you for now, they will kill you for later.”
Quick Summary
Deka preys for red blood, to be pure. But on the day of the ceremony, an attack shows she has the cursed blood. Abandoned by everyone she ever loved and a victim of the death mandate, Deka is left helpless. Until a strange person showed up and gives her a choice.
Final Thoughts
I. LOVED. THIS.
HOWEVER I found the writing at the beginning almost too simple, but I suppose it's because I'm an adult reading a YA novel. The novel did evolve throughout and I was so engrossed and invested in the story and the characters. Cannot wait to get my hands on book 2.
