World collide that's when life begins.

Final Thoughts
I flew through this graphic novel, this cute graphic novel also touches on the topic of death in a way that young readers would have an easier time comprehending,

Mark Towse does not fail to disappoint, he brings us a collection of his favourite horror stories. Twenty in total, there's something for everyone found between these pages.

By then I was a teenager, and teenagers say anything to hurt when they are hurting.

Quick Summary
Just a man in a room, with a gun. The best killer for hire, one condition. He'll only do it if the target is truly guilty. He's decided this is is last, and most lucrative job. So what could go wrong.

Final Thoughts
This was ... fine. I felt too long and drawn out. Like all of Stephen Kings books way too much is put into description and it loses me and keeps me from throughly enjoying the story.

The vibe this book gives off is We have always lived in the castle but with a small mining town twist. After the death of her father Christie is left with the Ambers as we were fathers wishes. The entire family dynamic has me questioning everything.

This small town horror is more atmospheric than gore. We have a accidental deaths, Indigenous Legend, a wealthy family that is ... eccentric.

“I have always loved the feel of books, the way they give a literal weight to words and make of them a sacred object.”

Quick Summary
Natasha Trethewey tells the story of life, death and the aftermath of a trauma she never thought she would face. She explores how this shaped the artist she became.

Final Thoughts
This book, read  by the author, gives the story of how trauma shaped her as a person. Natasha talks about growing up as the child of an interracial that had its beginnings in the Deep South prior to the Loving vs. Virginia decision. Her story will make you sad, will make you angry and will break your heart.

I read this book solely because @Shawn.of.the.read told me I had to.
Yes, I give in to peer pressure THAT easy. So here's the thing.
People HATE this book, and I couldn't figure out why.
There's some ick, going on but overall I didn't hate the story.
UNTIL THE END.

The end.

I'm going to keep this short and sweet. I hated it, I really need to stop reading books set in highschool.

“Jurassic Park where the freaked-out humans are told to stay still, because if they don’t move, then the T. rex can’t see them. Nonsense—because it could sense depth, a real Rex would have made an easy meal out of those sad, misinformed people.”

Quick Summary
Brusatte gives us an explanation on the evolution of dinosaurs from their starts right up until today. Along with stories from his adventures during his dinosaur research eras.

Final Thoughts
I LOVED THIS. The author did such an amazing job in telling the journey of the evolution of dinosaurs. This reminded me of my visit to the Royal Tyrrell Museum and how it was sectioned off in similar style. Swipe to see a couple pics!

Sadly, I took to long to review this book so much of my initial thoughts were lost.
I will say this, this is the second book I the series and I found myself more captivated from this book from the very beginning. We already know and love the characters and this book built on that.... until PIVOT.

Sometimes owning something doesn't mean it's yours.

Quick Summary
There has been a number of unexplained disappearances in a small town in Connecticut, the culprit is someone no one would take a second glance at.

Final Thoughts
Thank you NetGalley for a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review. I was excited for this one as I enjoyed their other books. , I have to admit that I didn't love it as much as I had hoped. Throughout the read, I found myself wondering about the direction of the story and how it would ultimately conclude. While the ending itself wasn't bad, the journey to get there didn't always captivate me. It felt rushed at times, leaving me wanting more depth and development, but other times, it seemed to drag on. Overall, I had mixed feelings about the pacing and the overall enjoyment of the book.
