I went as far as the first stopping point for bookclub and it was painful. 

Characters suck, writing is awful. 
We as a bookclub decided not to continue because the majority didn’t enjoy what they read. 

These people are in high school. 
The book was recommended to me but I’m an adult, and I can’t get past it once someone told me it’s a spicy book. Just no thanks. 

I was so excited for the idea of this book. But it was …. Just not it. 

I started listening to this audiobook. 
But I should know better by now that fantasy books like this with a lot going on in the beginning I need to read vs listen. So I will come back to it. 

Just wasn’t feeling it. 

I’m going to shelf it for now.
The fact that each part isn’t broken up into chapters is daunting. And I’m not feeling long sections right now. 

Honestly, each beginning chapter ‘introduces’ the characters but yet. You don’t know who is being introduced and what you’re supposed to be learning. It’s all I’ve the place. 


Here’s where I learn that just because I like the synopsis and the cover doesn’t mean the book is going to be enjoyable. 

Honestly, it’s just boring. 

I really just could not get into this book. I might try again, but right now it needs to be shelved.

I was not feeling the book when I started it and instead of pushing through because I am really looking forward to this book, I shelved it until this year.
