This was so perfect and unexpected, I mean, look at the cover and title. I was honestly expecting just cheap smut and cringey writing, but damn. I guess I should've known, this being Alexis Bloody-Genius Hall. The way Arden thinks and describes his feelings and everything is so wholesome and deep and melancholic. Even with the smutty sex scenes I was always crying afterwars because I felt his hurt so deeply. I just wasn't prepared for the emotional roller coaster that is this book.

What kind of cishet bullshit I’ve just read? Honestly, turning the Joining into basically a reverse harem when it could’ve EASILY be a balanced polyamorous relationship (or at least a true MMF threesome where both men at least kiss) I can’t even, this was my only hope for the book and it was trash. A freaking NA fantasy known for its smut scenes and the threesome description is absolute shite.

And can we discuss how Kieran and Reaver were supposed to be the perfect enemies to lovers and there isn’t a single trace of intention in the books to make them be together?

I feel like this series started as something and with each passing book the author just makes shit up to force us to read more 600 pages long books and I can’t take it anymore. It doesn’t even make sense, every book we discover Poppy is something different, just make up your mind! I’m too pissed off, I hope I remember this feeling of reading utter garbage when the next one comes out so I remember not to read it.
