not bad, but a little lax on character development especially since it was set up so well.

I never thought I would have this much love for a book written completely in old West dialect (that's what I get for making assumptions) but here we are!! Kate is a super cool heroine, and I loved the gold search aspect of the story. Also, Erin Bowman is so nice and really chill to talk to (I MET HER) so hearing her talk about her inspiration for the story and asking her about writing in this specific style was really fun!

what a huge ass book this was. I read it in one sitting which is not recommended since I'm pretty sure my brain exploded. it's gonna be a few days before I can write a coherent review. what a glorious mofo of a book.
HOLY CRAP MY BRAIN IS ABOUT TO EXPLODE
this book starts off fast paced and never looks back. i may or may not have had a heart attack at one point, but i'm still alive, so that's a bonus. i was worried that i wouldn't like the file style of the novel, but that made it so much more confusing (in a good way) and awesome.
the last two books that i've read have been a dystopian thriller and a super sad WWII historical fiction. i'm reading a fluffy contemporary soon or i may go insane.
UPDATE (JAN 22 2017): I've been in a small slump so reading this and loving Kady and Ezra again was great and now I can read other books!

ugh ew DNF so boring and poorly put together save me from this slump I'm reading like 4 books but I'm not past pg 50 of each of them

so, yeah, my brain has not had to comprehend a VE Schwab book yet in my almost 17 years. sad, I know. but I'm here now, and I'm adding ADSOM to my TBR as well as This Savage Song.
I looove this book. the plot was intricate, the characters were so complex (everyone is bad but some are bad and good?), there's a dog (!!), the time changes are confusing at first but they add so much to the story. the only problem I had was with the pacing, since it was all over the place.
