a bit frustrating, especially as the miscommunication continued so far into the story. really liked the characters but the lack of development until basically the epilogue was also annoying. abby is so funny though i was DYING laughing when bri confessed what she did after she found out nick cheated. 

super fun and lots of tension! beckett is probably my favorite male lead (he gets me) of the lovelight series and it was great to have dual pov after just stella pov in the first book. having both characters narrate helps the conflict feel more natural. although i don't love miscommunication, it was fun to see the author literally call it out through the writing and try to add a bit more depth to that. there should have been more of the duck, though. 

the characters are the best part of this book! layla and caleb are a great pair, although the circumstances of their love story were a bit confusing. the third act conflict being a miscommunication/the woman being insecure once again (i read this one right after lovelight) was tiring but i could see it coming. 

a fun holiday small-town friends to lovers fake dating! (wow, that's a lot of tropes). i really enjoyed reading this one (despite the fact that i was at the beach when i finished it) and am looking forward to the rest of the series. the cast of characters is very endearing and stella and luka's story was super cute, despite being a little frustrated with them not realizing how in love they were while they were fake dating. the third act conflict being a miscommunication was a bit annoying, but i appreciate how they actually did talk. this book sets up the rest of the series well and the writing is well suited to the content. 

sussman's formula is repeated from FUNNY YOU SHOULD ASK to ONCE MORE WITH FEELING, but the second time around it doesn't work as well. i'm also just personally not a fan of cheating and it immediately makes me want to put down a book, so this one was not for me. the dual timeline wasn't very impactful and got boring/confusing at times. none of the characters were very well developed or made me want to keep reading about them.

writing was a bit clunky and felt immature, was not connecting with main character, meet cute was great but romance fell flat after that

just not feeling it. writing is more tell than show, gay stereotypes are driving me up the wall, THE CAT DIES ???

it took a WHILE for this one to get going. writing was good, but in terms of characters i never felt very invested in levi or georgie. i appreciate the storyline about her not knowing what to do, but there wasn’t that much progression. levi was kinda endearing but also him being obsessed with georgie but also lowkey treating her like shit … bro go to therapy i’m sick of this !!!! yeah it’s mid idk

balances the craziness of fake dating/cdrama star love interest with lots of heart and quiet moments. great banter, beautiful cover and very genuine platonic relationships.

main character was annoying and dumb at times, i wanted more of the LI, the family plot wasn’t resolved well despite being the whole point of the story. liked the cast of characters and the growth for the most part.
