just not feeling it .. the narration was kind of awkward and it was way too cheesey. harry shum jr 10/10 though
writing and characters were not clicking for me. i’m disappointed! will maybe try elsie’s work again another time.
this started out fun, but quickly became way too intense for me. listening on audio is much more visceral for me, so i'm not sure if i could have finished this in print, but i'm putting it down. the main characters are going through it here, and i was already getting really frustrated with this for multiple reasons. checking content warnings and seeing death of parent (which has not been hinted at and there was no content warning at the beginning of the audiobook) pushed me to dnf this. also the sex scenes were lowkey not sexy. romance authors stop saying "delicious" or "my sex" (barf) challenge!
writing is sooo cringe and i’m just not feeling it. hallmark will snap this up
just not vibing. nothing super special about the writing or characters that makes me want to finish this.
was so confused the whole time, retelling stuff wasn’t very clear, fantasy was thrown in so sporadically it didn’t work
writing was a bit clunky and felt immature, was not connecting with main character, meet cute was great but romance fell flat after that
just not feeling it. writing is more tell than show, gay stereotypes are driving me up the wall, THE CAT DIES ???
writing was somehow too much and didn’t give me enough? i still don’t really get the plot even after an hour
