The audio edition to this book (series) is the greatest gift that will be given to everyone. I chuckled and snorted at far too many parts; far more than when I read it the first time.
What did I just read? I plowed through it and I'm left with this feeling of ... huh? and meh?
It's good but then it's not. I need to see it in person.
Damnit.

I'm not sure about this one. The main characters seemed to be conveniently drawn to each other and the conflict between them felt far too gothic and tragic, like the couple that seems to on the break-up/make-up benders that we only want to watch on television soap operas but never in real life. Yet, I couldn't stop reading the book. When I sat down to read the first chapter, I found myself on page 60 without realizing how much time had gone past. Possibly fan-fic-ish but entertaining.
Everything that drove me nuts about the first book have been amplified in the sequel. The mystery is fine but I can't deal with the drama.
I've tried reading this twice. I even went to the audio version as maybe it was just me.
Nope. I just couldn't get into it. The language was pretty but it didn't grab me like The Inquisitor's Tale did.

This series continues to be a delight. Katherine Kellgren's narration is the greatest thing since sliced bread.
