Oh this was lovely. I'm sad that I haven't read this earlier. Will be exploring more of Ms. Christie's work in the immediate future.
Edit: Get the audiobook version with Dan Stevens.

Still is just as amazing as when I first read it as a child.
Dear Mr. Dahl,
I understand it was the 60s and things were free and relaxed. I understand that it's okay to be silly and write silly things for children who enjoy silly and outrageous things. That's why I'm not judging this book as harshly as I could. The narrator for this audiobook was wonderfully enthusiastic, which made the experience less painful. If I had read this instead of listening I believe I would have had a harsher reaction. I can't help but consider what it might feel like if I had read this as a kid. I more likely would have laughed and thought the entire affair to be a silly adventure.
So, Mr. Dahl, I'll just chalk this one up to a drunken night of writing. It's strange and silly but meh, whatever. I believe that you had fun writing this one and I'm okay with the baffling hiccup in your bibliography.

I've known of Peter Brown's work due to his picture books. Mr. Tiger Goes Wild is a favorite for storytimes. I'm happy to report that Brown's transition from picture books to chapter books was wonderful. The story is delightful, the characters fun, and the overall package fantastic. Highly recommended for younger chapter book readers such as 3rd to 4th grade, though any reader looking for a fun robot story would be happy with this presentation.
Having been introduced to Victoria Jamieson through her wonderful graphic novel, Roller Girl, I was excited to see a new graphic novel for younger readers. The story is fun and silly with great story overall. Recommended for earlier readers such as 1st through 3rd grade.
