Highly, highly recommended.

I appreciate the notes at the end which briefly discusses that Melvil was racist dick even if he presented the foundations of modern librarianship.

I didn't know I was craving Romantic Space Opera titles until I read this book. Jessie Mihalik is a fantastic author. The story pulled me in and I adored the characters. I need the second book as soon as possible.

This book is similar to a spider's web. There are so many different portions to the web - if one piece is destroyed, the entire web is ruined. Clarke has spun a story that deserved contemplation. It's frustrating, confusing, glorious, and gorgeous. As much as I appreciate receiving a digital ARC, I can't wait to have this book in my hands in physical form. This is the type of book that deserves to have its pages flipped back and forth as the reader explores the story's mystery.

Edit: There are parts of these book that reminded me of Lev Grossman's The Magicians Series, which I'm sure he'd be please as punch to hear as he's a big fan of Clarke's previous works.

Second edit: Reread but with the audio edition. Chiwetel Ejiofor's narration should be given all the awards.

The art is fun but the story is kinda...meh?

I didn't want to put this one down. I already want to read the next book in the series which hasn't even been announced it. The characters were fantastic and their chemistry was a delight. I appreciated that Samson wasn't an "alpha" character due to his build and background as a former football player. I appreciated that Rhi wasn't merely a "ball-buster" because she ran a successful company. Each had their strengths and weaknesses and it simply elevated the story. Alisha Rai writes with such heart and passion and we're all better people when she shares her stories with the world.

Thank you to Netgally, HarperCollins Publishers & Avon for providing the book in exchange for an honest review.
