In The Garden of Spite by Camilla Bruce was a well written historical fiction telling about The Black Widow of La Porte. I appreciated the story telling about Bella, instead of it being more a biography. The dual point of view with Bella’s sister really allowed the reader to see how strange and unhinged Bella truly was. The extent of Bella’s known and speculated crimes is astounding. If you enjoy true crime stories, this is a great read. For me, I just had a tough time getting into it since true crime is not really my reading jam. I read this story as part of my book club. The other members really enjoyed it!

Ignore Scott by Leigh Donnelly was a cute holiday romance. I loved the struggle of trying to communicate with Scott, but not being able to since he was filming for the documentary. The way Jackie and others describe her house’s decorations for Christmas made me wish I could see it in real life. I enjoyed hearing about Jackie and Scott’s past together. My biggest struggle with this book was that the pacing was too slow for me. I felt like scenes would drag on. Overall, though, I found Ignore Scott to be an adorable second chance, friends-to-lovers tale!

Sweet Inspiration by Penny Watson is going into my Christmas Romance reads every holiday season! This was such a fun and festive read. I really enjoyed the world around Santa Claus and how it caused conflict for Nicholas and Lucy. The romance between those two was sweet with a little spice. I'm super in love with this book and can't wait to read the other Klaus Brother books.
