I love historical fiction. This one, I particularly enjoyed because it took place in Philadelphia, where I work. I ride past the location of Maddie's coffee shop most every day. It's so amazing to imagine the world that existed then, and it's humbling to know the tragic circumstances that people lived through in 1793.

Frederick Douglass was a truly remarkable man. I learned a lot about his life and his experiences, his views, his hopes for the future and his concerns for what will come. Am important history who's depths were missing from my public school education

I really enjoyed this book and am impressed that it's the author's first novel. My only disappointment is that I'll likely have to wait a while for 2ne book. This is an excellent YA novel for a slightly older young adult (there are some tough themes and situations, but they are discussed and presented well.) I loved the characters, and looking forward to what happens to them next.

Did not love this book I found it too predictable and obvious. I will say that it was written well enough that I wanted to finish it. I just didn't like the story.

Ray Charles was a fascinating man. Self-assured, self-sufficient, strong, talented, opinionated. This is his ghost-written autobiography from 1978. It's definitely NSFW, but it's an engaging glimpse into his life and his world.

Cutw high school romance with all the dram and eye rolls it requires

A perfectly geeky fable about software development and how devops, empowered teams and modern software engineering practices can make for happy team members and successful companies.

My one warning is that you shouldn't listen to this book just before going to bed, because it will give you unwanted work-dreams. It's that realistic. I'll be recommending this to lots of folks at work.
