The first half of the book, which covers "young Elvis" is really interesting and details his life before he was discovered and his rise to fame. I learned things I hadn't known.

The second half of the book glosses over the rest of his life seemingly only focusing on the better side of things. I wanted it to dive into more events and even be critical of Elvis and the way he acted in some situations. But that didn't happen.

I still enjoyed the book, and I'm glad I listened to it. I love Anna Fields as a narrator.

I didn't see the ending coming, good mystery. I haven't read the Barbara Holloway books in a year or so, so it took me a bit too get back into it and remember all the characters. I don't love how Jill and Olga were portrayed. Spinning those characters differently with a stronger angle would have given it another star

Interesting view into a women's minimum security prison with some well-interlaced commentary and opinion about the effectiveness of the US penal system. I haven't yet watched the TV series. Looking forward to seeing that now.
informative slow-paced

Re-listened to this ahead of the "Oppenheimer" movie release. He was a brilliant man with a lot of conflicting and complicated thoughts and actions. Fascinating and devastating what they accomplished.

I *really good enjoyed this book. I haven't read many (any?) historical fiction novels from the prohibition era, and thoroughly enjoyed it.

I didn't realize when I started this book bit is a re-telling of the 12 dancing princesses. Very neat. My only complaint is that it wasn't longer! I want to know what happens next!

I love reading about strong women from every era. This one didn't disappoint.
