A good mystery, but the author inserts too much random preachy Christianity for my liking. Also, the characters keep forgetting they're in a murder mystery, and it's kind of silly. 

YA fiction with romance and magic - the matriarchy vs the patriarchy and neither side is innocent.

Reminded me a bit of John Scalzi's Interdependency series - both futuristic space sci-fi, both with a strong female lead, both with a hook that the lead has access to their predecessor's memories. Similar premise, but the stories are quite different. It took me a bit to get into it, but I enjoyed the book

A nice little mystery that takes place in an Asian strip mall and with all the characters that surround it. 

Read this book, but not on a week that you're already emotionally drained cause it will hit you. An excellent book with a unique approach. It'll make you feel.

A moving and tragic story set in Italy during WWII - a love triangle between three best friends.   I learned a lot of history from that time in Italy that I was unaware of.

This is the 3rd in the "little beach street bakery" series. I liked the first book best. I find the characters in Colgan's Mure Island series to be more lovable and engaging, though this series has some good leads too.

I love me a good fast-paced lawyer/detective novel. This one was excellent, and I found myself listening to it in between meetings so I could find out what happened next. Probably good as a standalone book, but even better if you've read the other books in the Mickey Haller series. 

It was grounding to hear about Chester's experience as a child in the 1920s and how the Navajo people were treated by our country, and that despite that experience he was dedicated to fighting on our country's behalf in a way that only the Navajo people could. The development and use of the code used during WWII was fascinating.
