A beautifully intertwined story that flashes between a storyline in current-time and one in the WWII era. Enchanting and sad and happy and fated and maybe a touch magical.

A mystery in a mystery in a logic puzzle with some intrigue thrown in for good measure. Loved this and didn't want to put it down. Thrilled that there are 2 more books! 

I loved this book. Whodunit mystery with a deep dive into the classical music sub culture and the extreme prejudices that exist in a group that has such little racial diversity. Deep character development and plot development. I couldn't stop listening. I loved all the violin interludes on the audiobook, too.

An intriguing story that twisted and turned, but lost my interest a few times (maybe too many twists?)

Ive read nearly all of Scottoline's "Rosato and associates" novels except for the first few. It was neat to read Mary's origin story. 3 stars because it's not as good as the later books, but that's expected. I love this series.

An ethical dilema of a storyline and characters that aren't designed for you to love, but it'll certainly get you thinking. 

Reminded me a bit of "a discovery of Witches". I got into it right as the book finished. Hopefully the 2nd book picks up right where this is ends. 

A good mystery-romance novel with a good abalnace of both. I needed to do a little "suspension of disbelief" a few times to just let the story keep going. But I enjoyed the book as I have other Mary Kay Andrews novels.

An amazingly deep, insightful and often painful accounting of three different stories from the Great Migration. A very important part of our nation's history that I didn't know nearly enough about.

Took a moment to get into it, but really enjoyed this book, the diverse cast of characters, the wonder and the mystery of this story. The depictions of the characters and scenes are so deep that you can see all the scenes and characters in your head. Loved the narrator too. Would love to see this book become a series!
