Arguably the best book I’ve read this year. Amazing, heart-breaking writing. While I never been sexually assaulted, Chanel tells her story and why it matters in a way that is relatable and compelling. She is reasonable, passionate, and rightfully justice-seeking. Everyone should read this (women and especially men). Probably the best part is the empathy that it inspires in me as a reader

The plot itself is engaging and inspiring - tough to hear/picture what experience people have in North Korea. The telling of the story was average, could’ve been better if there were more compelling underlying themes, reflection or memoir-style.

Quick read- simple and easy-listening about one of my favorite shows. I love Lauren Graham and she is a great writer

Great storytelling and ability to point out nuances within race relations and police brutality

Great memoir! Eloquent, passionate and so smart

Such such good anecdotes and I loved the messages she told about being black in Hollywood, being a mother to young boys and being a woman. Bold and funny and heartwarming and real. Definitely recommend

Such a great account of my favorite show. It was honest and gave a fair analysis of the show. I enjoyed the interview-style of writing and it was great to hear fun facts and the viewpoint of the cast and crew.

GREAT analysis of the state of our politics today. Uses data, psychology and a fair tone to explain the current situation and how we got to the state of polarized and separated identities that we have in 2020. Points out what aspects do and don’t differ from our past, and misconceptions that the 2016 elections was an anomaly. It is systemic and Klein effectively makes this case.
