So so enjoyable. Long but engaging the whole time. The best was the themes about the power of love, coming of age, sacrifice and destiny

So great... very well-researched and informative but reads like a story - it was engaging and did it’s job of making me care more about the Great Lakes ecosystem. Highly recommend

I enjoyed this and it was intriguing but at times it felt like a long journey with little resolution (which might be the point)

Read this for a book club. Enjoyed the plot and the themes and how relevant those themes (white savior complex, family and culture, protecting land and preserving history, gaslighting) all are relevant to today.

I love the descriptive language, and though I’m not usually one for books that have mystical/spiritual/ghost stories mixed in with reality, this was very compelling and Ward did it well. I enjoyed the themes of family, ancestors and how historical pain and struggling shows up in the present and future.
Really enjoyed the characters of Jojo, Pop and Kayla.

ONE OF THE BEST BOOKS I HAVE EVER READ. Therapy is so important
