"No Longer Human" is a haunting exploration of the human condition. Osamu Dazai's raw and introspective narrative delves into the tormented soul of its protagonist, illuminating the depths of existential despair. Dazai's prose is eloquent, painting a vivid picture of the protagonist's descent into alienation and self-destruction.
The novel's themes of identity, societal conformity, and the search for meaning are poignantly portrayed. However, some readers may find the protagonist's self-destructive tendencies difficult to empathize with, making it a challenging read emotionally.

Great concept... confusing character arcs
Some decisions made does not just made any sense to the overall plot

I honestly didn't think I'd like this as much as I thought I would. I have deep love with Victorian London setting and dark London at that so this book is already off to a good start for me when I saw that it was set in London, 1883.
This reminds me of what a mashup of House in the Cerulean Sea and Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children vibes, although, the character arcs of the MC is entirely unique making it a deeply engaging story!
Love the vibes, love the characters and love this plot

Thank you Gollancz for a physical copy of this book!
So, I am not sure where to start with this. I super loved the concept of space opera, queer representation and all that.. however, the arcs of a good plot and characterization was just way off. The first 30pages were quite tolerable as if its building on something but it never really did end up anywhere.
There's so much potential conceptually, there were just some lapses on the execution that made the book unremarkable

To say I am unwell is an understatement. Ending Blood and Steel with so many questions, I'm glad I continued this series cause the expansion is just worth it.
So many interesting developments that really gave justice to an additional book. I loved Thea and Wilder, their relationship is just so beautifully unhinged and just a wonder to witness.
This might not be a typical romance-y book but, I am all for the plot and the plot I got.

If you are looking for a new adult fantasy introduction turmoiles with intrigues, secrets and a little bit of action; I highly recommend this one.
Not only was it fast paced, it also tallied beautiful character arcs and twists altogether

This is a very shifty and tricky book to get into - but all in a good way. The society set up is not something I come across most of the time in a fantasy world so that definitely piqued my attention.
Albeit, the themes about mystery, adventure and political intrigues are considered common; the author managed to have a separate take on it by introducing quirky characters and interesting writing approach.
If you are looking for a book version of something like Atomic Blond x Aeon Flux x Ghost Shell, then this is for you.

This was a rollercoaster for sure. I haven't read as many Indian myth as I would've liked but safe to say, I was a given a glimpse in a wonderful way thru this book.

This one definitely takes the cake for just the right amount of backdrop setting. Jude Maddox's grim duty as the Hand of Death takes readers on a journey into a realm of nightmares and impending doom. Amidst the shadows, he encounters Kiara Frey, a fierce and defiant woman who challenges his perception of life and love.
The narrative weaves a treacherous tale where survival and desire intertwine, creating a seductive dance as captivating as the shadow beasts themselves.
The story unfolds with an ominous beauty, betraying senses and surpassing nightmares. In their fight against darkness, the characters must embrace the very shadows they fear, knowing that most of them will meet their demise. A compelling blend of romance and darkness, immerses readers in a world where love and treachery intertwine.
