informative reflective

i went into this thinking id already know it all but I've realized that just because I know more than I did 7 years ago doesn't mean I don't still have so much learning to do. I need to be an accomplice feminist, not an ally, and actually take action instead of just saying words. thank you Mikki Kendall for writing this book
dark mysterious

I liked the elm and ione plot in this one #teamelm and I liked that this one fleshed out the world a bit more and the history behind it. still cheesy and predictable but a fun read

beautifullll art and the colorwork was amazing, this book was so impactful as a graphic novel. i definitely need to sit on this and really soak it in but it was very moving and sad but also very hopeful and eye-opening.

I was invested pretty quickly and enjoyed it. I found the commentary with the dystopian world good, I was rooting for the romance, and I liked the twists and turns that were revealed. I didn't love the audiobook just because the narrators would voice the characters differently which made them seem like they weren't the same characters. it was also a bit repetitive in the plot and pretty reminiscent of hunger games but what dystopian isn't ya know

I couldn't put it down and I'm sad for my adventures with Emily and Wendell to be done. I loved the focus on their pets in this one. such a cozy world! I teared up reading this one ngl
informative sad tense

so heartbreaking and terrifying but so many people go through this or something similar :(
adventurous dark tense

i think i would've liked this better as a physical book instead of an audiobook but the original magic system was interesting and i enjoyed the gothic vibe. the romance and other relationships were hard to believe or care about.
challenging informative

a good bit of it went over my head but it was a very informative read

the romance was so cute! i loved how i showed that even supportive people have to challenge themselves and their thoughts because we don't get it right just because we're not outwardly transphobic

I really liked it! I was worried with it being such a long time between the books and this one coming out after the show had begun but it still felt very much part of the same world and very real (unfortunately).
