A quick read, but a good one if you're a fan of Veronica Mars and her supporting characters. May come off as a bit more corny in written form as opposed to the panache Kristen Bell brings to the noir-feeling storylines, but this book was thoroughly enjoyable. Love that it connects right after the movie ends. I'll keep reading these if the story keeps going!
Not sure I'd recommend this for someone who has no background with Veronica Mars; though the book tries to fill in the gaps I imagine it wouldn't be the same without really having gotten to know these characters for years.

I've had the Powers series on my shelves for a few years, loved the first one but suppose it's time to get through the 12 volumes someone let me borrow...
I love learning about this Powers city and what is "normal" and "law." Proves highly interesting, and I love the main characters Walker and Deena.

Good stab at celebrity culture and tabloids. Enjoyable.
The best Powers I've read so far. A great arc, a gruesome one, and so many complications for the main characters.
The good stuff keeps coming. I love the leap in time from the last volume, and how good this fictional society is written.
But I can't figure out why Walker's hair is now blond. Unless I'm missing something...

Profound and beautifully written, Cristina Henríquez's love story of two Latino teenagers in Delaware pulled at my heart strings and the immigrant stories interwoven resonated deeply. Not because I'm Latina, but as a person. I have read Henríquez's previous two works and loved them a lot, but this book is her best work. The events in the past are revealed expertly and the tension rises as the events in the present unfold. There are many folded corners to my copy of the novel; there are so many wonderful sentences I want to remember. I don't want to say too much in my review, since I didn't know much as I started it, but it captivated me from the first sentences. Re-reading that introductory paragraph after I finished the book made me weep (again).
In short, HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO EVERYONE!

An intensely graphic arc violence- and sex-wise... a definite commentary on the media and celebrity-fascination that has come up in previous volumes. Well done, as always. Am really enjoying this series.
Woah! What a turn POWERS took! I was highly confused when I opened this volume and saw...monkeys. 2001: A Spacey Odyssey-type monkeys. But as it continued, after my initial what-the-ffff reaction, it was such a great origin story for our main character Christian Walker, that I think it's one of the best volumes so far. So many questions answered about the universe of Powers, of Walker, and the past. Highly enjoyed.
After the epic tale of the last volume, zooming back into the future and the doomed city with a ban on super-heroes felt not as grand. But it was still great. Love Deena Pilgrim.
A pretty intense arch, and Deena Pilgrim is the MVP with some real dark issues going on. Highly intrigued to keep reading.
