My first book I've read from this author and it certainly didn't disappoint! And the best thing is she is self published! A great quick read with lots of suspense and twists. Would definitely recommend to thriller lovers!

I loved both You and Hidden Bodies and when this came out I just had to read it. I had high expectations and it didn't disappoint! I actually enjoyed it more than Hidden Bodies and almost as much as You. And for the first time I actually found myself feeling sorry for Joe, like I was on his side! Loved it. Twists and turns and the ending I could never have predicted! Looking forward to series 3 of You on Netflix coming out now!

I love a good horror story! This was a slight slow burner for me but the first part of the story was finding out all about the main characters and the small town itself. It built up the suspense well and to be honest I wasn't sure where the story was going. I didn't expect it to be about witches at all, but the sinister and creepy descriptions were spot on and certainly gave me goosebumps. Well written and fast paced at the end. A great horror story!

A fast paced read which took off from the first page. I got a bit confused with the plot but really enjoyed all the court room drama and lawyer talk. Those people are sneaky! Love the Eddie character and looking forward to reading the next in the series.

Blurb: Sam and Jane are newly married and totally devoted to each other. Then Jane dies suddenly, which rips Sam's world apart, but it's not just him who is struggling to adjust. Jane is too and the only way to move on is to help Sam move on too.

Overview: This book surprised me. Not only did it tug at my heart strings, but also made me really and seriously think about what it means to have faith. It really reminded me of The Midnight Library by Matt Haig so if you enjoyed that book then I recommend this one. Plus, this book is by a self published author like myself so I was very happy to read and review it.

Good Points: A nice fast read, which covers some very emotional but important topics. Likeable characters and relatable too especially for anyone who has been through loss. A heart warming story that I really enjoyed. Nice short chapters so was a quick read. It's a very tough subject to write about and the author did a great job of approaching it and talking about God as well.

Not so Good Points: The ending wrapped up extremely quickly and at times I thought the characters could have been more developed as the majority of it was only about their grief.

Trigger warnings: Deals with the death of a loved one.

Final Thoughts Using 3 Words: Sad. Thoughtful. Touching.

An evil entity haunts and terrorises four different families over generations of pain and suffering. In each generation they attempt to stop Him, but will they ever succeed?

I love a good horror and have been looking forward to it since I heard about it. It is a very different book then what I've heard before. Every chapter jumps forward a generation beginning at 1664 and ending in 2005.

A great fast paced horror. It throws you right in at the deep end from the start. I found is fascinating and amazing that Harriet managed to write each chapter in the different eras and make it seem so real and even the writing and dialogue corresponded to that particular way of speaking at that time. It was very clever and unique. At the beginning of every chapter Harriet made it clear what had happened as a result of the last chapter.

My only small issue was that because of the big jumps forward at every chapter I struggled to keep up at times and adjust to the new characters in each chapter. As soon as I got used to one character another appeared.

Trigger warnings: A LOT of death and gore!

Exciting read!

I didn't know what to expect from this book having not read the first one, but actually I found myself drawn into the story, although it did take me a few chapters to learn who all the characters were. I was absorbed by Amberley and Logan and Julians love triangle and really enjoyed the story and how it flowed. Throughly enjoyable fantasy read!

Blurb: Bryce used to be a party girl; drugs, booze and men were her life. Until her best friend and her pack were brutally murdered. Two years later and she's tasked with finding out the truth and has to deal with a hot enslaved angel who watches her every move. Bryce learns the truth of who she really is as well as a few life lessons along the way.

Overview: Okay, so I whole-heartedly admit that fantasy isn't my usual genre. In fact this is only the second fantasy type book I've read (unless you count Twilight as fantasy). And it's a big book...like 800 pages! I won't lie, I was a bit daunted when my book club suggested this for our first read...but oh my god. I am in love with this book! I loved Bryce. She reminded me so much of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and I just love her! And the sexual tension between her and the fallen angel Hunt was just...hot!

Dexter is your average guy, works as a blood spatter analyst, has a girlfriend and has a hobby ... which just so happens to be killing people, but only those who deserve it (i.e. other murderers etc). Oh yeah...and he's a psychopath.

Right, before I begin I have to say first that I am a massive fan of the television series. I didn't even know it was based on a book until earlier this year. I was so excited to read the series. The show is just brilliant, but this isn't about the show. This is about the book and the book left me feeling a bit ... meh. And I'm so disappointed! Because I really wanted to love it and give it 5 stars. As i read it I guess I was comparing it to the show and maybe that ruined it for me.

Okay, so it's a thriller about a psychopath who kills people, so it's my type of favourite book and I even loosely based my own book "My Dark Self" on the character of Dexter from the show and his Dark Passenger. I enjoyed the inner monologue of his dark thoughts and his sarcastic comments while on the outside appearing perfectly normal. I love the character of Dexter. I think it's a really clever idea.

However, I felt that all the characters apart from Dexter were so ... boring and really not developed at all. The ending was rushed and basically held no detail at all and if I'd read this first and not the show then I'd be completely lost. I will of course read the rest of the series, but I'm in no rush to be honest....

Amberly is coming to grips with her powers as well as her feelings for her life-long best friend Logan, but then she meets a wolf/human/shape-shifter called Julian and everything changes.

Having enjoyed reading Twilight in my youth I knew I'd enjoy reading this as the concept is similar. Amberly is a daughter of a witch and never knew who her father was, but all of that changes when a wolf shows up and starts talking to her - Julian. There is a very tense love triangle between Amberly, Logan and Julian which works well, plus many of the character names I love because I've either used them in my own books or in my own life, so that's a bonus!

A fast read and I found the dialogue really believable and punchy between the characters. Amberly is a proper kick ass girl who I can totally get on board with. This is the first book in the Dark Inheritance series (I've also read the second book and highly recommend).

At times I felt it was a little repetitive and I have mixed feelings about Julian (not sure I like him much) but that's my own opinion.
