Oh I am so glad I read that during the day

Meh. This is not great but not awful. The story was silly n interesting like how I find most legends, but the characterization was Bad. 

So sad this trilogy was not amazing like it should have been. The political intrigue was good but a bit more fleshing out of Sabé’s and Padmé’s stories would have been nice. Anakin’s random POV was… yikes. What was the point in introducing a new character that’s unrelated to the story with barely any dialogue? Like. That whole situation was handled poorly and the characters did not receive the love and treatment they should have in the narrative. Lowkey wish this was apart of Legends so that it could be rewritten better now.

I was incredibly disappointed by the last third of this book. It had so much potential but felt like a montage more than anything. Really wish there had been more interaction and depth to Padme and the Handmaidens at the end when the beginning started strong! 

The story just moves without giving very much setting, so it feels rushed. Maybe will pick up some other time but it was missing a lot of detail in the first part to make it worth keeping on to read. Was more tell than show.

I think they fumbled with the last 10% of the book, it didn’t feel super meaningful. Otherwise it was an interesting book, characterizations were good, Qui gon continues to be my least favourite person in the Star Wars universe, and I wish there had been a bit more obi wan 

I enjoyed this but felt that some stories were not quite weird enough. They approached it but didn’t quite make it to the sweet spot of real yet magical/strange/weird. 

This is the best audiodrama they’ve come out with. I love how this made me appreciate the beginning of phase two more (especially path of deceit) and the set up they made to get us here. 

This is the best adult novel they’ve released for the high republic yet, all the characters are amazing, the story so good.
