Allison, a teenage girl, has just found out that she isn't just a girl. She's actually half werewolf. Not only that, but in order to help her adjust to the change, her family is moving back to the land owned by her mother's pack. Everything is supposed to be better once they get there, but it never works out the way people hope.
When the alpha's son, Cade, and Allison realize they are true mates - much to the dismay of Cade's betrothed, Kendall, no one really knows what to do. But when Kendall teams up with a rogue werewolf to eliminate Allison, the race is on to try and save her before Cade wastes away.
What I enjoyed most in this book was the pack. It was great to see them organized and with a set hierarchy that worked. Many of the conflicts revolved around trying to work within the pack rules, or trying to get away with breaking them. Cade and Allison's relationship was a perfect example, and their story was very sweet.

Circle of Lies picks up right where Pack of Lies leaves off - only this time focusing on Allison's brother, Aiden. The book starts off with Aiden dealing with a very big personal dilemma that I don't want to say too much about since it may give away more that I should. To top it all off, he finds himself suddenly attracted to a human girl named Teagan, a friend of his sister's.
The pack is dead set against Aiden's new love interest, and to top it all off she doesn't even know that he's not completely human. She's so in the dark that even when a werewolf-hunter begins to use her as bait to trap Aiden, she doesn't even realize it.
Much more fast paced than the first book, Circle of Lies held my attention much better. I think the dynamic between Teagan, Aiden and both of their families was perfectly written. I think Teagan's father and his relationship with the crazy werewolf hunter were a little far fetched. I don't think anyone would have believed the story as easily as her father did. A little more doubt would have been great.
All in all, an amazing second book.

While the story got off to a bit of a slow start for me - there was a lot of background information to include in a shorter novel - about 100 pages in the story began to get really interesting. However, I'm not sure how the author could have given that information (all fairly important) without taking the extra pages to do so.
With intrigue on top of intrigue it can be difficult to tell friend from foe from random person on the street. But this is the situation Thomas finds himself in as he journeys (with a very unexpected group of people) to the city of Magnus, intent on conquering it to rule as his own.
Having studied and developed quite an ingenious plan to take the city, he now just needs to get there in one piece and make sure he trusted the right people. The intrigue was very exciting and I was constantly trying to guess, right along with Thomas, who was truly good and who was out to stop him.
The ending was quite a surprise to me and set the stage for the second book very nicely.

The second book of Merlin's Immortals picks up as if the first never actually ended. Thomas is trying to resolve himself to the events that end the first book and the shock of betrayal that came with them. While he tries to come to grips with the things around him, the Earl of York comes and insists he join in the war effort against the Scots. Thomas's knowledge of war from his secret stash of books comes in handy and he makes a name for himself among the soldiers and their leaders.
But treachery strikes once again, turning his friends against him, Thomas finds himself defending the city he just claimed. While this book was much violent than the first, it wasn't overly graphic (except for one scene on during the march to the Scots). Thomas is growing and learning to trust in his insights and knowledge to get him out of trouble, while still trying to sort the the intrigue and mystery that surrounds him.

The first in a series of books that shows how the various elven nations were divided by what comes down to a sibling rivalry and disagreement. A good book for those interested in the elves of DragonLance.
A continuation of the story of Krynn's elves and their history. The Kinslayer Wars continues to tell the story of Kith-Kanan and the war between elves.
Following the kinslayer war between the elvish factions, Kith-Kanan becomes the first Speaker of the Suns in a new elf kingdom. But all is not perfect, family struggles and disagreements continue to plague his family.
