Rain Forest Relay was a great run through the rain forest. Through the eyes of Russell, we get to learn about the ecosystem and a various animals that live there and how they live together. There are fun fact pages about the animals that really get a conversation started.

Russell and his team play fair as they race to the finish, but it seems like some teams aren't such good sports. We had a lot of fun reading this one, but it did get a bit choppy sometimes.

I can't imagine the pain of knowing you killed the one you loved - but having to live with it for a thousand years??? That's gotta do some damage. Killian is going through the motions. They're good motions, but you can tell there's a hollow place inside.

Enter freak chance and accident - and lo and behold but Eira (the long-dead love) turns up alive - sort of. Both are shocked, they're mad at each other for not looking harder, and they are so beyond happy all at the same time. Part of this was great! The emotion was so real - but it was also a little overly dramatic at times. Eira is very upset with Killian for hiding some things from her, and she seems to just suddenly get over it.

While they are trying to sort all this out, some of Eira's friends are fighting for their lives in the hands of the bad guys. The bad guy is super creepy by the way - well done Krystal Shannan. The whole adventure portion of the story was amazing, and it managed to enhance the romance between Eira and Killian instead of taking away from it.

This is the first in the series that I've read - I'll be going back for more soon! While there is some background that I can tell I missed, it still holds its own in the romance department as a standalone.

I can really see why this series is so popular. MacKayla is the type of character that just about anyone can relate to, and I love her attitude with all the crazy crap going on around her. A couple mysteries are solved in this one, but a million more are presented.

Baron's is just as mysterious as ever, if not more so, and I'm still wondering what his real motives are. V'lane seems to be playing nice, or at least trying to, but you can never really tell with the fae. But he definitely adds an important element to the story. Not quite danger, but it could turn that way very quickly.

There's some grossness, some sweetness, some breakdowns, and some enlightening moments. Such a fun story to just fall into. MacKayla's constant changing perspective continues to be more and more interesting.

Topaz and Jack have a bad history together. He pretty much screwed her over (which you hear more about in the previous book) and now he can't understand why he feels guilty about it. Is he just having a crisis of conscience or has he lost his edge? Topaz is a firm believer of "fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me" and just isn't interested in anything Jack has to say. But he is a persistent vampire.

He joins Topaz on her quest to find out what really happened to her mother. Why is she so interested in this now? I wish I had known. It seemed a little sudden for such a major quest to pop up. The search for her mother was a great mystery with little clues left dangling just out of reach. It leads you on one direction and then another and then BAM!!! super twist!! You won't see it coming - even though I've just told you about it. You won't see it.

I miss the original set of vampires. I understand why Shayne had to move away from them, but I liked them so much more than this group. There are short appearances from one or two on occasion, but it just isn't enough for me. I wish I knew more about what's going on with Reaper as well, he's a very intriguing character, but I think he may be coming up pretty soon in a book just for him.

A nice quick follow up for Jair and Kimber. I enjoyed the story, but at the same time it almost seemed like an unnecessary addition to the world. It just didn't really add a lot to it.

This was an amazing story!!! When M awakens not knowing who she is or much of her past, she becomes an enigma. But for some reason everyone wants to follow her - follow he out of the coffin room and finding a way towards the outside. As they journey up - always up, looking for a way out they find everything but.

This is a journey that never ends, a journey that has so many twists that I just never knew what was going to happen next, when M was going to do next. As she tries her best to meet each obstacle, she doesn't always make the right choice. This only made me love her more and really want to see her finally succeed.

The best parts of this book I can't even mention or I would be giving too much away. Just be prepared for a ride that you won't quickly forget.

I had a really hard time with this one. Half way through it sort of lost me, and while I found the plot again fairly quickly, I just didn't understand why the middle section was there at all.

The story follows a family as they deal with a husband/father that has not been faithful - and they find out in a horrible way. As they attempt to deal with the situation, they quickly grow apart.

There were some really amazing scenes that will have you either laughing or crying. It was just too disjointed for my taste. There were times a chapter started and I wasn't sure who I was reading about until a couple pages into it.

Can someone be too pretty? Apparently so - especially when people begin to think your language tutoring skills are actually a nice way to say "escort". But Lisette has that handled now - with her amazing make-under people are taking her seriously and her business is taking off. But then Erik Gunnarson walks through the door.

He's everything a woman could want in a man - and he seems to like Lisette for herself. But Lisette still has a strict policy of no dating clients. I thought this situation brought up some very interesting and very humorous moments (don't you hate it when you forget to put your mole on the morning). This book sets up some amazing moments and both characters are fantastic.

There is a bit of a surprise at the end that I didn't see coming. I'm going to be going back and re-reading a couple chapters just to see if the author was that sneaky or if I got caught up in the storyline and missed the big clue. Either way this was a great way to wrap up the series. It has become one of my favorites.

This was a really fun book. I loved the steam punk aspect and all the gadgets and robots that helped run the Amazing Automated Inn. Our storyteller, a cute little dachsund named Noodle, was such a great voice. I loved how his thoughts really brought the story to life and added a bit of comedy at times. When the mesmers come to invade the inn, it's up to Noodle and his owner to try and save them. Their creativity and bravery was great to watch.

This is one you will have to read in order. I got through about 5 chapters and was really lost as to what was going on.

Going to have to DNF this one for now.
