Okay but where is #3 Ms. Garwood?!? It has to be about Faith and Quinlin. Right? Right?!? Loving these books and really wish there was another because I binged read 1 & 2.
So cute. Honestly the friendship between Judith and Frances Catherine is the best as makes this romance one that stands out.
I know this is a short book but I had a really difficult time getting into it and it kind of really dragged. I was so sure I would like it but ultimately I had to force myself to sit down and just finish it so I could return it to the library.
I couldn’t sleep and basically read this book in one sitting. I love retellings of Pride & Prejudice and this was another fun one! Although I would say it’s more inspired by then a retelling. Some characters from the original feel combined in this story but either way it was a great read!
3.5 stars but rounding up. I struggled to get through this book even though it’s short but I think that has more to do with my current mood than the quality of the book/story. I chuckled quite a bit as the author intertwined bits of Islam and Christianity in the story but some of the message is actually very much aligned with Sikhi. I kind of want to do a deep dive into that but that’ll be for another time.
I know I can't fully appreciate the work of art that is this collection but I truly enjoy Kaveh Akbar's prose. Some of my favorites include Palace Mosque, Frozen and How Prayer Works. Almost every other one to be honest.
I wish everyone would read this book. I know I need to read it again, and I never re-read books. Will definitely be revisiting this with the accompanying workbook.
This really dragged for me. I have one other in the series that I have on my kindle so I will probably give the series one more shot, but not for a while. I kind of wish I had DNF'd but I bought the kindle book so I felt obligated to commit.
I really appreciate the whole pocket change collective series, and this is easily one of my favorites. A must read for so many reasons.
This was super fun, and I ended up reading it in mostly one sitting. There were a few things that bothered me but they were minor, and overall it was really fun to read a holiday romance that wasn’t about Christmas. At least not directly. Definitely recommend picking this up for the holidays!
