This was great.  I really enjoyed the enemies to lovers trope along with the insta love/attraction trope.  Alexander and Jaimee make a great couple.  The SACRIFICE!!! Oh my god, I hate it up.  It was wonderful.  

There's a lot of highland romances where the MMC is just determined not to fall in love.  This take with Maggie the FMC being the one in that position was a nice way to mix it up but also heart breaking.  Morgan is great though and I really adore him and he's so patient despite being described as a rogue.  He's actually so loyal.  Content warning for loss of child, loss of spouse, and infertility.

This was a really sweet romance.  I love Keira and Connor.  I wish Rhianna not well.  I wish I had realized this series took place before the courageous highland hearts series, but this isn't the first time I've made that mistake and it's kind of like having a prequel series.  I'm excited for the others in the series too since I liked the characters future appearances.

Meh.  Eilidh and Will are probably my least favorite couple in this series.  There wasn't really anything about either character that made me feel invested in them or their relationship.  I don't think either of them even grew or changed over the course of the book.  Their flaws I guess just are their flaws and things just happened to work out.  If anything, I wanted to read more about Ava.  I'm even more excited for the next spin off series about Iver and his brothers.

I love Jean and Robin.  This was a good slow burn.  I really enjoyed their relationship coming together, and I love that Jean was looking for a challenge and something of her own outside of a husband.  I love that she just focused on building her own life and accomplishments when things weren't working out romantically, instead of just pining.  I think a lot of times we end up with heroines that either really want to be married, or hate the idea of being married.  I love that Jean wanted it but wasn't willing to sacrifice her self respect or pride over one particular man.

I needed a good friends to lovers romance and this was perfect!  I was really excited for John and Naeve, and I love that everyone else around them also was very much rooting for them.  I didn't like that Naeve came across as dismissive of John's insecurities at times, but I think this might be one of my favorites in the series.

I really liked Beth and Niel. I feel like it's not often that you get highland romances that center an arranged marriage and this one worked well!  There were certain parts that I think were a bit more flushed out in the relationship arc but overall enjoyed it and dove right into the next.  Excited for the stories related to the other sisters!

This novella deviates quite a bit from the rest of the series since it heavily relies on a supernatural element.  I wasn't expecting that but I guess it was alright.  Dallis and Niven are alright but I think with Niven being a Ross cousin that I don't think was mentioned at any other time in the books, it was hard to care or be invested in his story.

This was a fun quick novella.  I was a bit confused about the timing of this novella in the clan ross series, because I thought Elspeth's dad was the blacksmith in Kildonan, but I guess this takes place after all the Ross brothers have already married and Edan is their cousin.  Edan and Galena are both nice and their romance was really cute.

Short and sweet novella.  Ella and Evander have some cute tension, and Evander's mom is a real one for stepping in and moving things along lol.
