Ugh.  I really wanted to love Gideon's book, and I was excited that this book attempted diversity in a Scottish romance that went beyond hair color but it was so disappointing.  Even from the beginning I kind of got a bad feeling about the Aldaba family being written poorly, and I wish I was wrong but there were instances in this book that made me cringe.  For one thing, I noticed that the names of individuals in the Aldaba family would just get changed or misspelled throughout the book.  This happened to Alia's dad and brothers.  The author kept referring to "her father's" heritage or culture but never really specified what that culture was except for like once in the book where it explicitly says that he's Muslim.  I don't know.  I wish I could like this book more, but it has felt like the author stopped investing in the series and I think the quality of this book really reinforced that feeling.

This might be my favorite in the series.  We deviate from the brothers with Artair who is a cousin and trying to find his place.  He and Robena are both great both as individuals and together.  I was not prepared for the roller coaster that this book was.  I was absolutely not expecting that to be part of the conflict.  Things got DARK.  But I do love this book and am glad they got their HEA.

I was excited for Caelan's book, as he's the bastard half brother but still the others see him just like any other brother and they're all so close.  I liked the chemistry between Caelan and Glynis except for Glynis makes a dumb choice and anytime a really dumb choice is made I just role my eyes.  Because why would you do that?!?!  The grammar/typos are also starting to annoy me.  Content warning for miscarriage. 

Not my favorite in the series.  I was looking forward to Stuart's story based on his appearances in the first two books but this book was underwhelming.  The story between Stuart and Cait isn't very memorable.  Maybe since part of the whole problem is that they don't spend enough time together.  It's weird.  I don't know why Ross men make dumb choices lol.  Hopefully the rest of the series picks up again.

I love Duncan.  I want to give him a hug and protect him from the world for forever.  Beatrice is funny, like she doesn't try to be but I just giggled every time she messed up.  Love them both together.  Love how they work through things.  Loved this story and can't wait to hear about the rest of the brothers!

I joke a lot about Highland romances being comfortable because they remind me of Punjabi dynamics but the dynamics of the two moms in this scenario felt like home.  I loved it.  Darach and Isobel are wonderful, except for where Darach is also dumb lol.  But I didn't know how much I love groveling for forgiveness until now so that was a nice discovery.  Can't wait for the rest of this series.

I love Maria and Peter!  I loved this whole series, but I love that both MCs are plus sized and they have a shared experience over being plus sized in TV, versus previous books in the series where the FMC is plus sized and the MMC seems to be totally ripped and gorgeous.  The whole story felt very down to earth despite it being about tv stars.  Honestly I don't think there's a single character in this series that I don't like.  Except for Ian and the show runners of course.

I'm a huge fan of this author but this book was really disappointing. So many grammatical errors, it felt like there wasn't any editing done. The story was not good, the characters were bleh. As I was reading it I kept feeling like the author didn't even care about these characters. But still I powered through, only to get to the end and see an author's note that this is a standalone and that she's not interested in continuing this particular story/series. It basically felt like confirmation that she didn't want to write the story, in which case, why publish it? 

I can't believe how many books I've read this year related to Clan Grant/Ramsay. This is the final book in like the fourth or fifth series related to the families. Riley and Torcall are cute. As this is a novella there isn't a huge investment in the characters or plot. Honestly the series is comforting and relies heavily on previous characters making appearances. So this final book is more of the same. Either way, I enjoyed it. I will probably revisit the Clan Grant series one day, but I'm not sure that I would re-read all five series related to the clan. 

I have been racing towards this book because I was so excited for Alex's story but also I had a really strong feeling about this since The Viper.  My heart raced through the whole thing.  Also, Daddy Lachlan!!! My heart.  On a minor note, the fact that Thomas is never relevant again minus a brief mention (not even by name) only reinforces my opinion that The Rock is the worst book in the series.  I LOVE this series, totally exceeded expectations.  So well researched.  I didn't expect to love it as much as I did but I'm so thankful I picked it up.  Alex and Joan are wonderful and I'm really really happy.
