This book was enjoyable at first but ultimately really unsatisfying to read. I saw that it’s a prequel, but it’s been my experience in the past that prequels are basically standalone romances, and that’s not the case here. And after going to look at the original series and the tags I can’t be bothered to read what happens later.

I love Eloise and I loved her story with Sir Phillip. The epilogue was so sweet I squealed. The 2nd epilogue for their story wasn’t as interesting as I hoped.

This might be one of my favorite friends to lovers romance now. I love Penelope and Colin but I also love Penelope and Eloise. I love the Bridgerton family dynamic, as I’m a sucker for series that follow a loving family. Hoping the rest of the books can hold me over until season three is announced.

I was really looking forward to this spinoff series but this book is even worse than the first in the series. Reyna is so annoying and Wulf is all over the place. Neither one is a well developed or particularly likable character and their romance is also really poorly done. These books are getting shorter and are pretty fast reads but at some point they stop being enjoyable and just not worth the effort. I will probably give the next installment a try but if it’s anything like this book it might be the last I read by the author.

This book really dragged. The chemistry between Michail and Blythe was just a lot of waggling eyebrows and the same childish innuendos over and over. I thought this was a second chance romance but the original conflict just kind of resolved itself without any real exploration and another conflict popped up instead. Neither was that interesting, or the second might have been if I didn’t already dislike the couple.

This was a quick read and I expected more conflict but the story was balanced and a relaxing and enjoyable read. I’m really looking forward to the rest of the series!

This was a fun read and I wasn’t expecting to fall in love with two couples. I loved Rab and Catherine, I’m also glad we got to see Andrew and Catriona’s story a bit since it didn’t look like they got their own book. There was one plot line that I thought would be a bigger part of the story, then it seemed forgotten, then it seemed quickly resolved like an afterthought. But I’m not complaining. Overall I really enjoyed this read but there were definitely parts of this series that were very dark and graphic in their description.

This book really dragged. This is the third series by this author I’m reading and while I usually enjoy the books, any time there is a race plot line it’s so cringey. And in a lot of ways this felt like a repetition of the first time with Caitlyn’s sister Cairren. I wasn’t particularly drawn to or invested in Caitlyn or Alex which is a shame because a childhood friends to lovers story could have been so fun!
Moderate: Racism
There is a lot dealing with PTSD in this book as well.

I loved Dom and Emilie’s story. They both were so sweet, and it was nice to read about some of the other clan members as well.
While there isn’t actually a miscarriage in this book there is a scare that may be triggering for some individuals

I really liked Ronan and Abigail. The story was enjoyable and it was nice to read a story where the majority of the conflict was something the MCs overcome together rather than conflict between them. This also might have been one of the sweetest epilogues in the series so far.
