Truly one of my favorite poets.  I really enjoyed this collection.  It feels like one I could revisit over and over again.

I received an ARC through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.  This is a great collection.  The prose is amazing and I like how the collections was organized/grouped.  Excited to read more from this author.

I really enjoyed this book and am looking forward to the rest of the series. Iain was a great MMC, and his relationship with his son Malcolm was so sweet, I hope he gets a story later in the series all grown up. Page was also a great FMC, she felt well rounded and didn’t feel tropey. Their relationship also progresses at a good pace. Would love to catch a glimpse of them in other books.

I received an ARC of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.  I really enjoyed this collection.  While there were a lot of unique experiences tied to Maori culture referenced in the poems, there are also a lot of themes that I think anyone could relate to.  The prose was magnificent.  I felt that even as I was reading it the words just flowed off the page.  I look forward to reading more from this author!

I an ARC of this book via NetGalley.  This collection of poems didn't work for me at all.  By the end I felt like it was a bunch of word vomit.  Everything felt clunky, it didn't feel cohesive at all.  Not just as a collection, but even within some of the longer form poems, it felt like I was trying to follow a disjointed train of thought.  Some poems also came across as almost name droppy or pretentious with the sheer number of references.  I haven't read anything from this author before, and if this is their style then I think it's just really not for me.

I really enjoyed the latest book in the series.  I was looking forward to Elliot's story and it wasn't at all what I thought it would be, but I actually really liked it!  There were surprises that I didn't see coming at all, so in some ways it kept me on my toes, but it also didn't seem like random things thrown in for the sake of shock value.  Can't wait to read the final book in the series!

This was a short quick read but I mostly hated it. Most of the story boiled down to ugly sisters bad, and pretty sister good. Maybe because of how short the story is, every character felt like a caricature, but this was very disappointing after having read the other story in the duet.

I really enjoyed this story, and the characters. Maerwynn and Falcon are sweet and this was a very cozy read. Maybe even the best I’ve read from this author so far and I think I’ll be checking out some of their series next! Also very glad that River gets a story too!

A cozy highland holiday novella. Both MCs were loveable, and it played on the grumpy sunshine trope without being extreme. Overall I enjoyed it more than the other novellas I’ve read by this author so far!

Having read this book a few years after it was originally published, I found a few of the first chapters were difficult to get through because it felt like things I already knew or understood. I also think the format of the book, which took on an interview style didn’t work for me personally. I would have preferred that each chapter just be written like an essay. But overall, I think this is a great book for someone looking to understand why we need abolition and why we need it now.
