Well...I guess I was expecting more?

I LOVED Year One first part. I gave it a very very high 4. This? The later half? Just feels decent.

So now we have the cheetah origin which feels extremely rushed and kind of lifeless. We also see how grief can ruin someone to the point they become a monster themselves. This is kind of to show who Diana really is and how she handles being a God on earth protecting us while also dealing with her personal issues, especially with Cheetah.

Good: Overall the art stays very strong. It was the strongest part in the first half, and still very very high here. The cheetah fight at the end was vicious and really entertaining. I also enjoyed the dinner scene a lot.

Bad: The two gods in here are kind of boring and did nothing for me. Also what the fuck was that rushed origin with Cheetah? Like a two page turn. I was just...just no.

Overall this was a weaker second half. I wanted to love it but came out going Meh. It's good but could have been great. Oh well, sadness.

I have to be honest. I didn't enjoy Mad Max (the new one) and so I saw this cover and I kind of thought this be something like it.

Glad I was wrong.

So extremity is about a family who was dominated and destroyed. Invaders came in, shopped off the daughter's hand, killed the leader's wife, and left their home in shambles. So the father rallies his troops and decides to exact revenge. With his people behind him and his family he goes forward. However this story focuses on the events of being so angry, so bent on revenge, people around you pay a huge price.

Good: The story moves at a very very quick pace. However, it works really well. Never boring and always entertaining. The art is well done showing the brutality of people when need be, and large areas really well drawn. The fights are intense, the emotional levels hit, and the parts you worry work all too well.

Bad: The story can be just slightly basic. You've seen this before, and while not always a bad thing, can feel samey. No big twist or turns when the series really could have been.

Honestly, if my worst complaint is I've seen this before that's pretty good. You have very solid art, fun characters, and neck-breaking pacing you can't really go wrong with this fun quick read. I'ma give it a 3.5 but turn it to a 4 because think it's worth that.

Injustice Year Five volume 1 wasn't horrible. So that got me excited to read 2...a little.

Luckily volume 2 is half way decent too.

So now we got Bizzaro running around killing people because he doesn't understand how things work. Obviously in violent and fucked up ways he never stops to think of his actions. Luther decides to do the unthinkable and events occur that fuck shit up. Also watch Batman go head to head with Superman was very fun and something we've been wanting to see.

Good: The Batman vs Superman fight was worth it. The lead up was also solid. I really enjoyed Bizzaro too and his fight was pretty epic if not a little fucked up.

Bad: The art goes from solid to shit really weird places. Also the side stories, or one shots, are pretty flat and boring. The ending was also just "okay' when it should have been great.

Overall Injustice is slowly making it's way to the finish line with a decent 2nd volume for it's 5th year.

Amazing how great this series was at the start and how badly it went. Sorry, Buccellato just didn't honor this series well IMO. Even his strongest is nowhere near as good as year 1-2.

So anyway this is it. Batman is nearly out of options. He's really going through with one more major plan. After Barry and the others offered Bruce no hope he teamed up with Lex to get a different timeline of heroes to help. So if you played Injustice the video game you know how this will end up.

Good: It's over...No kidding. Kind of. It felt wayyyy too long though. Anyway I liked Batman's final words to Superman and enjoyed the Hawkman beatdown.

Bad: All the side stories, especially harley's stories, sucked. It felt overbloated and just seemed like a lot of fluff for no reason.

Injustice goes out on a whimper. From one of the best stories out there to one of the most boring sadly. While some later volumes were decent it never did capture the magic. SO HYPED for Tom Taylor to return with Injustice 2 next month!

X-Factor continues to be the best X-men type of comic I've ever read.

So this volume finally talks about the moments that happened in the last book. Remember when Madrox slept with two ladies? Not at the same time silly, he just made copies of himself, and each slept with two of the major teammates on the X-Factor team. Pretty screwed up huh? We also deal with the fallout of a certain murder and how the character grows from it. Also the twist and turns with the Hydra plotline were interesting.

Good: I really do love the dialog. It's sharp, witty, and just overall really fun. The art remains extremely strong as well. A dark yet hopeful look into the world of the X-men. I love the prison scene, and of course the final issue, all really bring this series to light for me. Focusing on the injustice of mutants and that is always number 1 thing for me in a X-Men series.

Bad: It dragged a little with the Hydra storyline. While fun two issues worth can get a little grating. Also the fact everyone else had a more interesting plotline right now.

Overall X-Factor Volume 3, without giving spoilers, keeps out characters growing and going into new areas. I really loved the shit out of these characters and hope it continues to be very very solid.

Am I missing something? Why is it called Curse Words?

Anyway this is about a dude called Wizord and he's going around doing his magic thing. Not that fake shit you see on TV, he actually has magic. However, soon into the book he's attacked and then murderers his attacker in front of a bunch of people. He then tries to hide it, which leads to some twist and turns, and eventually someone hunting him down and turning into a big brawl.

Good: I enjoy the art, its very colorful and bright. I also enjoyed the main character and his interaction with everyone. He's selfish but at times you understand his way because of who he was and where he came from. I also enjoyed the pacing as it was very quick and wasted very little time with exposition.

Bad: The side characters in here weren't very interesting. I also thought it was trying to be a little too funny when it wasn't clicking. I dunno, least for me.

Overall the comic is good just not great. Maybe I let hype get to me. Maybe I'm just not into magic? Either way it's solid fun time but nothing mindblowing. A nice 3/5 for good magical fun!

Locke and Key continues to be a extremely interesting series.

So the kids have gained the ability to open heads. Like they can open someone's head, reach in, and grab a memory or a creature of a memory, and tear it out and it's formed in real life. How nuts is that? Also we have the villain here being evil as fuck and scheming the hell out of this family. Also the uncle is going through some crazy shit once he leaves and it's only going to get worse.

Good: Some of this shit is the funniest comic book stuff I read. I was laughing so hard. The art remains good and the mystery is still very very much there. The dialog is still top notch and worth seeing how everyone interacts with everyone.

Bad: The story is very big so it's hard to see how it will all connect feeling like certain characters don't get on page time.

Overall very solid 2nd volume. I hope it stays this good or gets better because it's becoming one of my favorite series.

Oh Aquaman, why can't you seem to hit the highs anymore?

So this volume really just bounces all over the place. We have some that deal with the Dark Water. Remember that? Yeah that's the big ass creatures that pop out of any little water and murder people. Then we also deal with some political arguing with the cities and then further down the line we focus on the political nature of Atlantis itself. Aquaman is pissed when his own people begin to doubt him and then the big turn of events lead to a downer ending that no doubt sets up future events.

Good: The ending is def the best part. The last two issues in particular are the best part. The most interesting thing for Aqauman for me is them talking about the major events of the bottom of the ocean to relation with top. I also do enjoy the more human moments with the characters at the start of the volume.

Bad: The art seems flaky. No offense to the artist but it feels like he doesn't care. Also the fights aren't particularly interesting. The middle was a drag and just not very good. WHY!?

Overall this is a just okay ending to the first half of Dan's run. Which is odd, because I think he's a solid writer. But this could have been better. I am excited for volume 4 just because the artist change and he's amazing <3

Holy fuck man I kind of wish I was around reading comics from 2011-2014 because this is some epic shit. I took a break from comics, who knew the best Avenger arc began then?

So Cap and crew begin to deal with new issues. The first part of this book's main focus is Captain America finding out the truth. It actually is Bruce Banner who finds out what Tony is up to first. After these "evil" avengers come to 616 and the good avengers deal with it Banner does some sneaky background shit to get more information from them. By the time he meets with Tony shit is about to go down.

The later half deals with Steve going through different future time plots. From 50 years to 5,000 years in the future and it's so he finds the truth of it all. Of what the Illuminati is up to. One thing you know about Cap is he is very prideful. What do you think he'll when he finds out his best friend and co are planning to blow up worlds? Yep.

Good: Once again the art work is fucking amazing. However, it's the plot that steals the show. Complex and enthralling, this is Avengers at it's finest. Watching Cap come to the realization of what happened to him and his friends is so good. Then to see them jump future time lines was perfect way to show who cap really is. Also the bruce and tony scene was damn nail biting.

Bad: It can be jumpy and hard to keep up. You must read all previous volumes of this run to really appreciate this one.

Overall this will probably go down as the best run ever for Avengers for me. With Infinity jumping up my love for this series this volume solidifies it. Now to go read New Avengers that ran side by side with this title. Hoping for the same love!

This is my first Doom Patrol book. Which might not be the best idea...

Still, I was really surprised by this. So what's the plot? Well a bunch of people, very weird and different people, start coming together. There's a ambulance driver who's ready to save everyone she could. A magic wielding woman who blows up her roommate. Then a walking talking robot who kicks ass. You got a dude who transforms into a mummy like person. Then you...wait, did I lose you? Yeah it's zanny as fuck but this is how a group of unlikely people come together to fight evil together. Least I think they're evil.

Good: I really enjoyed the zanny nature of this comic. Over the top and balls to the wall, it's always entertaining even when confusing. I love the main lead and her hopeful lookout on things but also her confusion in her role in it all till she takes it by the balls and kicks some ass. There's a ton of good chuckling moments throughout here as well.

Bad: Some of it tries hard to be funny and falls flat. I let it slide due to the nature of it but it's still there. Also sometimes the art looks to emulate "old" when it shouldn't. I think the story can be jarring for a lot, especially new comers, and they may be too confused to continue.

Overall this is jam packed with crazy hijinks and twisted fucked up stories. While I didn't "Love it" I was entertained throughout. I'ma go with a 3.5 for this one but I have a feeling the more I read the more I'll fall in love with this series.
