This is probably my favorite volume of the series. We get Shiro backstory, which is just fucking heartbreaking. I had an idea but seeing it, ugh, makes you feel for this girl. On top of that Shinji get's to shine and my oh my, does he. Not only his he badass but heartfelt moments that makes you go "NOOOOOOO!" and overall a great ending. The pacing, comedy, drama all hit in this volume. This is leading to a very satisfying finale.

Interesting concept. So what if Civil War never ended? What if a bunch of our heroes died and the entire nation was split in half by Blue (Cap Side) and Iron (Iron-man side)? The hatred on both sides is evident, and in the first issue, we try to address why they're still fighting. Getting hints of reasons, the ending ultimately results in why the second round in this war might commence. Some of the dialog is a little "eh" but overall I'm enjoying the idea and art right now. Hope it continues to get better.

At the start of this volume I saw Flash running towards that 4 star.

A Interesting villain killing people? Yes

Kid Flash? YES.

Then you find out the reasoning of the Reverse Flash.

And everything just feels like it falls apart. Once a interesting villain really comes down to a selfish guy who wants something to change from the past and in doing so sacrifices all the good he could have in the present. The problem with this is it takes away the "scary" factor he had up until this point. He came off as whiny and boring.

Which sucked because the first half of this was firing on all cylinders.

Also the zero year tie in sucked too, as do most of the stories I've read in the New 52 that tie in to that.

So yeah, the art is still great, first half is fun, but the second half is boring/meh. So here we go again. Another 2.5-3 out of 5.

Call me a Brain K. Vaughan fanboy, but when he writes good, he's the best damn writer in comics IMO.

This volume builds up and sets up a lot. The end result ends with a very satisfying ending. I always struggle to read this series slow, because it's so engaging. So I read the whole goddamn thing in 30-40 minutes (and that's with me trying to spread it out.) So there's a time skip, we get to see Hazel older (YET STILL SO CUTE) and see our heroes, or characters, come together slowly. It's amazing to see characters we once loved become assholes or ones we hate, we suddenly love. This series just does an amazing job of giving us real life characters with good sides and bad.

I don't wanna go in to much detail without spoiling but I think I loved this volume so much because it focuses on building our characters to a great, exciting, ending. If you enjoyed previous volumes this won't disappoint at all.

Yo, this is a ton of shit. I mean, this took me awhile to read all this. So let’s just break down the ones I did read. If you see a few missing it’s probably because I skipped ‘em. I have no interest in Red Hood or Cyborg.

DC Universe: Rebirth - 3.5/5 – This is some solid shit. I mean it probably means more to people who’ve been reading DC for 10+ years, but it’s still great. The touching moments work and Wally is one of the best characters to be the protagonist here. He’s like “Barry, you fucked this shit up. But it’s worse than that.” And the big end reveal is both interesting and exciting. Also sick art. Yeah, overall very enjoyable even if I didn’t connect with everything.

The Flash: Rebirth - 3.5/5 – Well, it’s a more exciting start than New52 so that’s good. I have a lot of faith this will be special because I enjoy the writer’s other work a ton (go read Nailbiter, seriously) and Barry seems more “fun” in this than whatever boring piece of shit was in the New52.

Titans: Rebirth – 3/5 – I actually enjoyed this one a lot. Wally is awesome and seeing him connect with all the titans again was magical. I thought it was weird how they all just got together, in a random place, but screw it. Who can deny bros and hoes uniting in one.

Batman: Rebirth - 2/5 – Really boring for the most part. Love the art and some cool moments filled with confusing narrative at points and dull ending that didn’t make me jump for joy or make me want to pick up the next issue.

Aquaman: Rebirth - 2.5 – This was right in the middle. Enjoyed the art. Like the ending. But the rest of this one came off as kind of silly. Like we know Aquaman looks dumb but he’s still loved, come o now.

Green Arrow: Rebirth - 4.5/5 – I haven’t had good vibes about green arrow like this since I read Lemire’s run. Like holy fuck, this shit was great. The art was on point, some of the best in this whole book. I also loved the chemistry between Green Arrow and BC. I also like they get Ollie young but more attributes to his older self. Overall, kickass stuff.

Justice League: Rebirth – 1/5 – The fuck was this shit? Decent art but boring as fuck, disjointed, and a bad version of Avengers the movie.

Wonder Woman: Rebirth - 3/5 – This is what I’m talking about. Cool “What if, who am I, what’s this” type of storyline. Wonder Woman is now on my list of things to read, also great art.

Green Lanterns: Rebirth - 2.5 – Solid but kind of lacking that special something. I enjoyed it, and like the team up, and will read more because it seems like a perfect entry point, but wasn’t amazed.

Hal Jordan and the Green Lantern Corps: Rebirth - 2.5 – Similar to the other, this one seems for the fans of the older Green Lantern stories…which I should get on.

Nightwing: Rebirth - 2/5 – Disappointed would be the word. I love Dick…wait…anyway I do. He’s great but this comic came off as bland. Just going over events, which sure a lot of these do, but in the most boring way. Also the art is just meh.

Superman: Rebirth - 3/5 – Easy to read, tribute to the old New52 superman by saying goodbye and giving him respect. More excited to see where this goes.

Blue Beetle: Rebirth - 1/5 – WOW I wanted to love this but fuck this. Not funny at all, boring, art is okay, everyone looks weird, ugh I wanted to love this goddamn it!

Supergirl: Rebirth - 1/5 – Boring…I mean real fucking boring…

Batman Beyond: Rebirth – 3.5 – Woot, least one I was looking forward to scored good (Fuck you nightwing and blue beetle) but it had a few issues, mainly too much recapping. Still, the ending left it up in the air of where it’s going and I like the new “family” angle it got going for it. Will read more.

So this is it. My big review. If I miss a few, fuck em. Now time to start cracking into their full length TPB. Woot woot! Go DC! 3/5 all together.

Around a 3.5. I think it's better start than Waid's run (by far TBH)

So everyone forgot who DD was, except Foggy. Now Matt and Daredevil are separate once more. THis makes some great moments (especially with cap) and really shows how much internal fighting Matt really has to do. I especially love this issue dealing with Blindspot. The big brother type of relationship they have made this an highly enjoyable title.

Yes, I believe they could have done a lot more with Matt being exposed. I also enjoy the new costume but I already miss the red. We'll see how long it last.

Overall, a solid start to the next volume of Daredevil. Picking up Volume 2 soon!

This was interesting.

So unlike mostly everyone on the internet I didn't cry and die when they announced Cap would be Hydra. I didn't slit my wrist, claim racism, and shave the side of my heads in a shield (I shit you not I followed someone on Twitter who did this). No, I let Nick give his writing a chance. If it sucked I'd call it out. If not...

Well it's in the middle. Let's talk about one thing Nick does sometimes that drives me insane. Needless exposition AND massive amount of dialog. Some of it interesting, some of it made me want to take a nap (which I did!) The real dreadful parts are issue 2-3 which felt like a slug to get through and just dropping reasons why without SHOWING instead of TELLING.

On the flip side the last few issues build up very well. Creating a much bigger and better picture of who Cap is now. How he operates. I loved they didn't just turn him into Red Skull or make him stupid and rash. He's smart, tactical, and ready to take down everyone to let Hydra live. It's scary how easy it is for him to destroy the foundations of so many heroes while also working on killing a certain someone.

Overall the second half is very strong, and the first issue is good. If you keep with it Cap delivers both on current issues and learning about his past as a Hydra warrior. A solid 3/5

Damn this volume really stepped it up for me. The first volume felt a bit off balance. Trying to find it's way. Volume 2 plunges out favorite patriotic hero deeper into the abyss.

I love schemes. I love watching political thrillers and honestly that's what this is. Reading through how Cap, who by the way is my third favorite marvel hero of all time (Sorry Spidy and Daredevil get my number 1 and 2 spot) dismantle everything is just amazing. See Cap is strong, he's fast, but he's also real smart. Another thing he is? Very loyal.

So what happens when the reality is warped and Cap is secretly a Hydra agent. In the last volume we began to get clues on how he became who he is. However, we just saw the start of his mission. This volume we go further into Hydra. Not to get it mixed up with Nazi's like Red Skull. The original Hydra before that nonsense. However they used Red Skull/Nazi to expand. Now that's almost done with and they're ready to strike. Cap is planning to not only destroy the avengers and heroes but take out Red Skull too. However, he doesn't just go out and do this. He'd lose. So he plans, and schemes, and one by one builds into something horrifying.

See I love watching different takes, different motives, than what I'm used to. This story is building on themes of betrayal, of patriotism, of loss, and of fake symbolism. On the surface level you might cry and scream because this isn't the cap you grew up with. Sure, you can have that view point. I grew up with many takes on our hero (my favorite being Ed's run) and I LOVE this new take. It's fresh, it's interesting, and this day and age of so much backstabbing bullshit in our political day and age this is some scary truthful shit.

So I got to say, thanks Nick, for creating Cap in a new image and giving us something new. I will be picking up every volume from here on out.

I read this last year but I guess I never reviewed it. Thing is I read all of Dragon Ball in Korean when I was 10. More like looked at all the pictures and guessed what they were saying. Dragon Ball has a ton of humor though and I missed that. it wasn't until I was older I got to read Dragon Ball in english. Now that it's here what do I think? Well shit man, this is fun stuff.

What I liked: All three stories connect. Especially the first two arcs (volumes) is all about fun goofy adventures with Goku and crew. I really love the crude toilet type humor. It works so well. Also Goku being so innocent makes him the best burn master of all time. I also loved the simple art that still is memorable to this day. However, the final part is actually my favorite. When Goku meets Krillian and they have to work together training with their new Master Roshi. It's both entertaining and a bit more serious tone. After training they start the first tournament. Yes, it's filled with a guy who uses his pubic hairs/smell to beat people. It's insane and fun and honestly makes me love this series even more.

What I didn't like: The unsure tone of what it wanted to be. It's at the end of this volume you seem to have a clear set mind of what this series will evolve to. Till then it seems a bit fuzzy and sometimes makes it a slog to read.

Dragon Ball is both fun and exciting. It's what most Manga artist/writers wanted to create back in the day. Iconic characters, fun stories, and just having amazing amounts of FUN with it. Think I'll go back and read the rest of my series very soon =)

I'm that one weirdo who doesn't like the Red Ribbon Army storyline from Dragon Ball. I know most people say "it's when the series gets good" but not for me. Luckily for me this is one of my least liked volumes but still not bad! Let's discuss what works and what doesn't.

What I like: The first of the three volumes is the end of the tournament. Super fun as always and watching who wins is both satisfying and fun. I also loved the outcome of Krillian's matches and made the side character interesting. I also did love some of the Red Ribbon Army. Mostly due with Frankestein copy. It was cute and fun.

What I didn't like: Red Ribbon army never comes across as scary or all that "evil". Maybe because I know what comes later and true "Evil" and "Scary bad guys" are actually coming and this one fails to live up to that. However, I just found some of the fights with the army dull and could have been a lot better for me.

Still really had fun reading it but this is probably going to be my lowest rated volume due to not loving the Red Ribbon. Luckily love the tournament arc tho and that was great!
