I think I just like this author's work, cause again super slice of life yet I couldn't stop reading.

Basically a 34 year old women is trying to figure out life. Goes back to a small town with her ill father, and as he passes away she tries to find the meaning in life. Sadly she's mixed up, messing with a married man, but meets a new guy on the island who has a set of troubles himself. The past is never nice to people, and this story is about forgiveness and letting go while finding meaning in life. Overall a great look into the life of normal people trying to get by in life. A 4 out of 5.

Truly one of the worst Omnibus I own. And will own. Only cause Daredevil is my favorite character of all time in all of comics.

But let me make this very clear. This Omnibus sucks ass.

After having some of the best runs of all time for Daredevil in Miller, Bendis, Brubaker, Chip, Waid, and more you get this pile of hunking shit. Basically starts off decent enough with Daredevil the leader of the hand. But soon in we get to this mystical bullshit where a demon takes over Daredevil and he runs New York with the hand attacking superheroes. But it's SO badly done, the dialogue is AWFUL, the tie-ins are extremely piss poor, and the ending is garbage too. The "Reborn" storyline after is the only OKAY thing after 500-600 pages of pure nonsense garbage but that can't save this Omnibus.

Truly one of the worst runs for a fan-favorite character. After so much good, this is so awful it hurts. Luckily Waid is next up on my reread to wash this garbage out of my freaking mind.

Holy hell mass carnage and death. The ending ends as happy as it could after all the sadness.

I just don't get the high ratings for this one. Feels like a rough draft of a superman story from the late 80's, early 90s, but doesn't have much to say other than another retelling of Superman's first few days in the big city. I was bored most of the time, but the art atleast was solid. But honestly this is like a 2/5 for me.

The first arc in this volume is good, but ends on a bit of a whimper. Basically a gang war gone sideways and gets out of control. Entertaining but not amazing. The second story about a boxer out on his luck, a crime family doing terrible things, a poor little girl caught in the middle, everything goes to hell and makes for one of the best arcs in the series so far. A 4 out of 5 for me.

In my original review back in 2015 I had just come from reading Brubaker and Bendis run so this run lighter tone felt so odd. Reading it now, I REALLY enjoyed it a lot. Matt obviously is battling through his past, putting on a happy-go-lucky attitude but we know deep inside the shit is eating him alive. Besides the foreshadowing heavy moments with Foggy, and a so/so villain in second half, this was SO much fun. Matt dealing with his depression, the Cap fight, the court cases, all of it was magical. I'm so glad this run is turning out even better than I remember.

Original 2015 review: This is a far more light hearted daredevil. Fun but slightly less effective as the previous runs.

The Atelier Ryza manga is a solid companion piece to the game, offering a condensed version of the main story. It touches on all the key plot points, but unfortunately, it lacks the deeper, more personal conversations between characters that made the game so engaging. The art is definitely a highlight, capturing the vibrant world and characters well, and of course, the iconic "thick thighs save lives" theme is as present as ever (And can we blame them? THOSE THIGHS!!!!). While it’s an enjoyable adventure, it's clear that this manga is tailored for fans of the game, and newcomers may not get as much out of it. Overall, a fun read but not without its flaws—3 out of 5.

As someone who was also raised religious and then dropped it, I can relate a lot to this story. It's actually really well done. Dialogue that works almost all the time, with some excellent imagery and a cool "guilt" is the "demon" idea that actually worked well for the story being told. I liked all the characters, as they were all flawed in some way. I also appreciated the realistic ending, and the unsureness of it all, only made it hit more powerful. A little wordy at times, but overall very much enjoyable read.

Excellent fight scenes. Cool moments, with one really sad moment for the little one. I'm digging the entire vibe of this series. Has demon Slayer vibes with the fights, but darker tone in terms of losing characters like Juju, and yet it's completely modern day feeling fresh. Overall, def will keep reading this title.
