Some cool visuals and funny moments can't save this terrible plotted story and nonsensical ending. Overall wasn't a huge fan of House of M event, and this side story is pretty awful and doesn't add anything.

Had a bit to much focus on the side character I find least interesting. Which is fine cause only a portion of the story but it dropped it a star for me. Saying that the ending is adorable, and I'm curious how these two will navigate their relationship now.

Tank part was dope, and having his entire friends circle be his villains is a neat twist, but also this felt like a world building issue and a little to samesy to other batman stories.

Surge!!!! A lot of fun to see this showdown and was that draken????

Morrison at his most morrison? I wasn't sure what to expect but I'm glad I went in open minded because I really enjoyed this.

I'd actually argue the storytelling part isn't that insane. It's pretty easy to tell what's happening. I especially liked the focus on trying to help mentally ill people try to get better. The fact Joker is thought of as a lost cause by both Batman and the people of Arkham was a bit hysterical though. I also have to say the back and forth between the present and the one who had built AA was great, a slow decent into Madness really captured the feel of an Asylum before it even was one. The ending? Perfect as well.

Now where the book loses me a bit is the art. Don't get me wrong, some of it is amazing. The gritty close up of the teeth when Batman is angry/struggling, Joker's insane, disgusting, twisted look, the dialogue choice with the coloring boxes. All that was great. But at times I had a very hard time telling what was happening. Sometimes SO dark all I could do was kind of make out what the scene was going for, but also, questioned myself if I was seeing things.

I feel like this book might improve on multiple reads. What I liked is it was short enough to warrant a few re-reads down the line in my life. As it stands now though, a 4 out of 5.

Middle ground issue setting up stepping stones for the next big showdown. The Alfred part was a letdown. But the ending? Batman? WTF? Yeah I'm wanting to know what's happening too.

Everyone finally crosses swords! No not like that!

Rin gets to reunite with Manji but only for a minute. Eventually Manji goes head to head with other major fighters, Taito goes for the main hunt, Giichi shows off his horryfing skills with his sickle, and Rin...well Rin doesn't do that much which is a bit of a letdown. Most of this volume is one huge fight least in the second half, and it's bloody and sick and a ton of fun.

After the first volume blew me away I was excited to read volume 2 but now that I did, I'm let down.

It's not to say this is bad. I still like the way Ivy is written. Her relationship with Harley is mega cute. I like how they don't make her a good person, she cheats on Harley, she's still willing to kill people, she still has a nasty temper. I love that about her.

But these couple of arcs are basically are going somewhere and shutting things down because they're abusing plants/nature. It's okay...but the stuff with Harley remains the highlight for sure. Less dark, more comedy this time around, makes it enjoyable but not a slam dunk like volume 1.

This volume was nearly as solid as the others. It has a few chapters that are more "Ha" that LOL. And that was a letdown. I especially thought the first two chapters in particular were a bit weaker, and kind of depressing verse funny.

However, the stuff with the brother was truly hilarious. Watching her care for him so she can get sick and stay home from school was fantastic. I also loved whenever her friend came to visit her at school, cause that's when she's even creepier, and it is legit funny.

A 3 out of 5.

Outside of Hulk The End, this Omnibus is a big fucking miss. Terrible crossovers like House of M, bad Video Game tie ins like Hulk Ultimate Destruction, and just overall this is way past Peter David's prime on the Hulk who he made a very interesting character in the 80's/90's. It's just not working here at all. Very few Omnibus do I say are completely not worth owning, but this is one of them.
