Incredible Hulk by Peter David Omnibus Vol. 4
Jeph Loeb, Bill Messner-Loebs, Chris Cooper, Peter David
Overall I really liked this one.
Basically both husband and wife stretching themselves to thin. They're running themselves to the ground working, trying to improve themselves. When finally they almost break but a cool twist at the end has me excited where we go. But I might need to jump into the anime because it seems it's taking the 5th volume nearly 3 years to come out. So I don't know if we'll ever catch up sadly! A 4 out of 5.

Swamp Thing verses Gotham!
This was epic as fuck, especially first half. Abigail gets taken by the police for her relationship with Swamp thing. There's laws fucking things nonhuman. And Gotham puts her in Jail. Swamp Thing does NOT like that and makes Gotham suffer. Even Batman said "I don't wanna fuck with this dude, he about to kill everyone here" Good advice Batty.
All of the first 5 issues prior to the last are excellent. The last issue is a little too weird for me, I get where there going, but not the hugest fan of it. But everything else is great!

I love the relationship with She Hulk and Jack of Hearts. It's wonderfully done, feels realistic, and super cute.
The villains here, are just people to ambitious, who go to far, and do awful things. This leads to a sad faith for one of our characters.
Great 4th wall breaking, excellent character motivation, and the humor isn't forceful, it's fun. Overall a delight to read.

Another great volume as expected.
Really loved learning more about Tsukasa and how she touched so many people's lives throughout the years. Saving them, and protecting them. But of course these people are starting to remember her and that might be harder to hide. Overall good stuff, funny, and a steamy bonus chapter at the end.

Damn pains me to give this a lower score than the rest, but it just was overly done.
The fact we had to deal with Swamp Thing trying to get back to earth felt just so padded it was killing me. I get it was supposed to be a grand adventure but up until now everything really captivated me and this...this didn't do anything for me. I did love the issue with Abby trying to just be normal again. I also loved the final issue, and a great goodbye. but the rest was just okay.
A 3 out of 5.

The overly long arc of Manji being torn apart and used for body parts can not end soon enough.
I appreciate the author trying something new. Giving the sense of never ending which also makes the long and drawn out volume of Manji being ripped apart piece by piece and put on to new bodies and the test failing help get into the mind of Manji himself. But FUCK does it feel like it moves SO slow. This is easily the weakest part of the volume for me.
Luckily Rin gets a upgrade this volume. Having her almost be the star of helping a giant named Isaku and Doa who is this little nimble badass murderer. They trying to survive, have the best fight scene in the volume, and a brutal ending that gives me some hope we're getting the fuck out of this arc of Manji torture soon.
Still good but one of the weaker volumes.

Poor She Hulk.
She has to deal with Jack not wanting to get near her due to his powers. But they're still trying to make their relationship somehow work. However, the longer it goes on, the longer Jack becomes less "human" while at the same time the thief/villain here is flirty flirty with Jen and Jen does not appreciate that. Overall fun volume with a sad undertone.

The weakest volume of the three Absolutes but still good.
The first half is actually great. The stuff with Gotham, Swamp Thing and Abby, Abby all by herself? All of this was excellent stuff. The stuff with Swampy traveling through the universe to get back to earth was...okay. I didn't love it to be honest. But the final issue was great, and well worth the read and a sad but powerful ending. A 3.5 out of 5, I'll bump it to a 4.

2024 Review: STILL Fantastic. This is a story about death, but also just as much about life. As someone who struggles with the concept of death, especially getting older, this book hits me right in the heart. I love the idea of death being able to take us at anytime, and our main character basically dies so many points in his life, or not, depending on which story read next. I read this again in one sitting. Originally reading it in my 20's, and now in my 30's, I'll probably be re-reading this multiple times in my life. A 5/5.
Original 2017 review: Wow...Anybody seeing this review please do yourself a favor and buy this right away or download it on E-reader. It NEEDS to be read.
While I sit here I'm still trying to gather all my thoughts of this title in one review. I mean the emotions this Graphic Novel gave me is...just...I don't even have words. It made me sad, made me think, almost made me cry, made me smile, made me laugh...I mean it hit it all. It's truly an amazing title that I had no clue what I was getting when I opened it and I already knew it was highly rated (one of the highest on this site actually.)
Bras is a writer. The story focuses around his life, throughout various important moments, and at first it might strike you as a odd choice when the first issue ends. But as you read on you begin to see that the ending to each chapter is special, because it's an end, and you'll understand more of that when you read.
Without spoilers these stories focus on important parts of your life. From Love, to loss, to work, to family you get various stories focusing on things you might not even notice in your own life. I won't even lie, the dialog is some of the best I've ever read. The art is stunning, giving a realistic feel but almost dream-like. You know what I mean? It's so hard to describe because I never felt that way till today when reading a graphic novel.
I want to speak soooo much about this book but so much is spoilers and honestly I don't want to ruin the overall story for anyone. I just need to state again this graphic novel NEEDS to be read. It's one of the best books I've ever read. It hit me on so many levels that I can't even sum it up in this review. Just please do yourself a favor and pick this up right now. Just be prepare to reflect on life a bit after ;) 5/5.
