Another ehhhh issue. Too corny and silly compared to previous stuff. The villain super undercooked and not fun at all.
Mmmmmmmmmeeeeeeeeeeeehhhhhhhhhh to the max. Boring and not fun.
Batman: Second Chances
Dave Cockrum, Chris Warner, Norm Breyfogle, Jim Starlin, Jim Aparo, Jo Duffy, Ross Andru, Max Allan Collins, Denys Cowan
This is a mix bag, with some great highs, and a few lows.
Right out the gate get a great two parter about a derange guy following in Batman's steps but going the full murder route. It's really well done. Then get some decent ones with Jason's new origins and upbringing that are pretty solid. The following issues with two face are pretty bad, but luckily the last couple of issues are great when Sterlin takes over and gives us a very hard headed Jason while also diving deep into Bruce and Dick's issues too.
Overall solid, worth reading to see how Jason was before his death. Not all great, but great parts!

A sniper on the roof! Robin must talk him down. Batman goes off criminals like a boss. A classic Batman and Robin tale, Grant knows how to tell a solid story. It's not groundbreaking but I liked Tim a lot here. A 3.5 out of 5. I'll bump it to a 4.
I believe I remember reading this for my Robin Vol 3 collection. Decent story where Robin talks about the triad gang he's been fighting. Batman and Robin slapping hoes is fun but nothing beyond that, which is mostly how Dixon's writing goes.
Again, just okay. I do like Batman here, more protective than usual. However, the villain seems so over the top cheesy 90's villain I can't take serious.
+Really enjoyed the Bruce can't get over Jason fact, and blaming Tim for not listening.
+ Also liked the final fight and batman using the darkness as a tool.
-What the fuck are those goggles?
-Weak villain.

First couple of issues were solid. Thunderbolts vs avengers is a real fun idea. But then it got stupid with these big cosmic forces, wtf was even Genesis, songbirds direction as a character. Just a mess.
Better than the last volume. Basically Zemo plotting how he'll save the world while being the "hero" some cool moments with Cap and now I'm digging Songbirds angle.
Bombastic but without the heart I hoped for. Basically Zemo had some great moments but the rest was to the end of the world, so big that none of the small personal connections had in the earlier Thunderbolts from the 90s was nowhere near here.
