I almost went with a 5. I would have too, if last issue was as good as the rest.
So this is the origins of WW. Now listen, I'm sure this has been done before. I don't really give a fuck about that though. This is my first time reading a Origin Story for Wonder Woman and I thought it was REALLY well done.
So you get to see some time with Diana on the island learning who she is and what she's going to become. Then Steve lands and you get more backstory on his people, and it's actually really sad but luckily not swept into depression. Once you learn even more of what Diana is for and when she leaves the Island it gets even BETTER. The next few issues of Diana learning about us as people is magical and awesome. Like a baby learning to walk she learns everything about the world and it's done really well.
The negative in the story was the last issue. Here comes Ares, the God of War, and he gets taken out in about 7 pages. It was...lame. I thought it be a far bigger treat, more epic, but came up with just a meh feeling in the end.
However, to push score back up is the art, which is WONDERFUL, and some of the best I've seen in awhile. Really gives each person their own look and feel and the action is stunning and easy to follow.
So overall this is a wonderful origins story and a very strong storyline to get into WW. If you just read this by itself it's also really strong. I recommend this for anyone who wants to know about the badass warrior we all love right before her movie comes out! A 4/5.

Green Arrow is back! I mean I already enjoyed most of New52 run once Lemire got on. However this is more positive and fun which can be good for our Ollie.
The only negatives that hit me is the story is a bit safe. I mean the betrayals are easy to see, the double then triple crossing even easier to see coming, and it's a bit too basic at times.
Okay now that's out of the way let's talk good. Oliver is super fun and he should be, Emi is great and love she's back, Diggle is here but very different than the show and works, and Black Canary is THE BEST. The whole cast is A+ in my opinion. Also a HUGE plus is the art. This is probably some of the BEST art right now for Rebirth. I fucking love how it's easy to follow everything and everyone has a distinct look.
This is a great opening. Some new fans might be clueless who is who but they fill you in pretty quickly. I give it a 4/5!

The story was okay. But I do love Cho, he's awesome.
So this is much more upbeat and fun then what you expect from most Hulk titled comics. The fights are still epic level of huge monsters, earthquake like attacks, and badass moments. However the rest is filled with comedy that actually works (mostly thanks to Cho/Miles) and this is the first ongoing Hulk title I'll probably keep up.
The story itself is okay. Some Pokemon catching them all creatures if you can type story. It has a lame villain but it works well enough to introduce us. The backstory seems okay when you learn how he became Hulk but it's predictable.
Overall it's a fun, entertaining, little title. Nothing more or less. However, I will continue just cause I was smiling most of the way through.

This is by far my favorite Rebirth title.
Peter J. Tomasi knows how to write family dynamic. If you have a family, this book hits even better. If not, well it's still really well written.
Superman is trying to find his place. Trying to be the replacement the world needs now that their Superman has passed away. The single shot issue helps establish a conflicted Clark but once the main story hits, when you see the reason he's worried, is because of Jon (his son) it all comes together. Clark decides it's time to bring Jon out, and let him be who he's destined to be! Superboy!
There's so many amazing moments in this. From the Justice League appearance that scares Jon, to Jon fighting in Space, to Jon joining his dad in battle against the eradicator. It's so many "oh shit is about to go down" moments.
On top of that Clark and Lois are amazing together and talk like REAL parents. I freaking loved them talking in the bedroom, but even more so loved when the whole family is together. Oh did I mention Lois kicks some serious butt too? Cause she does, and it's amazing.
This whole story is very much worth the praise for the great dialog, VERY strong art, and well done storyline. I can't freaking wait for volume 2. Peter J. Tomasi has one of the best ongoing series atm in all of comics IMO.

I didn't love this story. I read it awhile back, and honestly hardly remember it. I think I enjoyed Ultron's side of it, and felt bad for him, but the rest was just...boring. And confusing. Yeah this wasn't one of my favorite things. And this is coming from someone who LOVES Rick's stuff. This is the weakest stuff I've read from him so far.
This is a 2.5. Right down the middle. Because that's what it is. Just okay.
So I know a lot of people love this guy. "Grant has done amazing things for comics" and "he's so deep" and "his stories define characters like Batman and Superman" but for me, this guy has huge writing issues.
Okay so let's talk about what works. The art is solid, if not a little overboard. Sure everyone looks terrible (superman's hair, Kyle looking like he's always yelling, why is wonder women more muscular than Aquaman?) but the fights are easy to follow and the villains all look interesting to say the least. The dialog also can work at times. The flash/Lantern chemistry is solid. Loved seeing Connor at the end come into the JLA. I dug blue Superman's scary look despite it being kind of stupid. I also liked that Batman came up with great ideas but didn't just beat everyone because he's batman. It's because he thought logically how to win. Oh and also loved the first arc with the superhero wannabes coming to earth. The second arc wasn't nearly as good.
Which brings me to the issues. Second arc revolves around angels coming down and the Justice League fighting back. It's both over the top, filled with shitty dialog, and don't even get me started on the uselessness of half the team. I don't even remember half of them doing anything...just wonder women and then Superman did something and...I actually can't remember tbh. Because Morrison throws a lot on a few pages and says "Look, I made a very complex and big mutli-page event" but in reality it's just confusing and a mess. Not nearly as bad as his Batman run but this was pretty much the same for arc 2.
We finish on a average storyline we've all seen before. The weakest member of the team saves them all. Connor is the green arrow, and he's fun (not as fun as ollie) and saves the Justice League. I liked that moment even if it wasn't as epic as I hoped. I liked some stories inside their minds when the Justice League was under like Batman old and having Tim face off against Joker but overall it was just okay arc.
So this 3 arc book was okay but overall not all that memorable. I much rather read John's Justice League tbh, even if it becomes horrible around Darkseid event.
Saying that I'll be picking up volume 2 and seeing if I enjoy it more! I never give up after one volume ;)

The avenger with the BUTT!
I always loved Jessica. She's not only hot but she's badass too. Her costume is also on point, so damn sick. She was a great side character so when I saw she was getting her own series I was pretty excited. Then I saw a baby on the cover and was like HUH!? And then I read it, and guess what? It's pretty good.
It starts off little slow. Jess trying to have a baby, gets trapped in a space hospital with Skrulls trying to take over, and I was kind of bored issue 1-2. But issue 3-5 for sure made up for it. Issue 3 we meet a cool little skrull kid who sadly has cancer, but the skrulls want him because he's a prince. So Jessica keeps him away from them so they don't take him and destroy the hospital.
Then the baby is born.
IT'S SO CUTE. Maybe it's because my wife and I are trying but I really enjoyed the second half of this. Watching Jessica juggle both her personal life with the baby and "work" being a superhero is really fun. Plus I love the chemistry she and Carol have, it's always fun to watch. They actually FEEL and READ like best friends.
Overall the opening could have been better but it's worth a read for the last three issues alone. For that it gets a solid 3/5!

Man Postal is sure as hell getting good.
What started off as a good series is slowly evolving into great. Sure there's still moments that make me pause (like how a character says she's going to do something but instead is the one to get hurt/beat. Super cliche) but the ending was great and the darkness this story takes you down doesn't hold back.
This volume in perticular goes even darker than usual, and contained a M rating because of it. A certain bar scene is brutal and fucked up to see. But also lots of flashes of ass and such mostly from a new character who honestly is just a tad bit f'ing insane.
The ending gets you hyped for the next volume and I have to say, I'm very very impressed with how well Postal is turning out. This might go down as one of the best horror graphic novel series by the end. Goodjob Bryan Hill!

Finished finally. I read issue 1 months ago. Read issue 2 last month. Read issue 3-5 today. And yep, it's a gigantic pile of shit.
I'm sad though, because I know to a lot of people Ultimate Universe is just the "side" of Marvel and frankly nobody cared about it after Ultimatum. I get that but to me, the Ultimate Universe means A LOT. It actually got me into comics. Ultimate Spider-man MADE me a comic book fan. So to say it ends on a whimper is so freaking sad.
This is just a mess. People just around like nothing, punisher is fucking stupid in this, Thor gods getting killed by guns, and don't get me started on the very ending just being a opening for Miles (who I love) to get introduced to the 616. Ugh, this whole thing was silly, stupid, and didn't work well.
Bendis should have focused on JUST Ultimate Universe characters and how they go. I was so pissed introducing far to many characters at once. Sleep well Ultimate Universe, you did a lot good. It's sad it didn't get the credit it deserves.

This was good, but not great.
I get this is all new universe now for Marvel but I felt they dropped a lot of what made Sam a interesting character. I liked him with no friends, a loner, who tried to deal with that by fighting crime. I also miss his weird ass buddies, who are completely gone here. Also why did the big twist have to cancel one of the better moments of the end of his last run.
Still, saying that, Sam is fun as ever. I like Sam cause he doesn't give in no matter what. Sometimes almost dying (look back at Hulk vs Nova) and it always makes amazing fights or moments of Sam standing for what he believes in. I also really enjoy Sam and his family. The chemistry with his mom and sister is always strong and stays true.
The art is solid, and the ending gives you plenty to look forward to. While not an amazing first volume it's still good and I just hope it expands on there and doesn't dwindle like the last run did sadly. A 3/5
