If I was to rate Thor series since the start on just art, this shit is stunning. LIKE FUCK MAN the art is truly amazing shit.
This is a really short volume. Focusing on just the major issues of the plot we finally know who Thor is (though it's super easy to see coming) but it's nice to know it now. I also really enjoyed the battle, it was fantastic, the art truly makes each battle epic as fuck. I couldn't get over the one scene where Thor is standing there, blood soaked, and is still standing ready to fight. Just amazing.
Dialog is still good, just not great. And the overall plot and pacing don't engage me like I'd hope. I respect Jason, but I don't know if his writing is my style completely. However, going to check out Mighty Thor volume 1 next.

Who knew Swamp thing would have the happier ending in this Rot World crossover? NOT ME!
Anyway this is Scott Snyder's final issue on his run and it feels very complete. From issue 1 it was building up and the payoff really works. It made me sad and happy at the same time because of the events you might cry, but the overall ending was really sweet.
The Green Kingdom arc is super fun and although feels slightly rushed after meeting a certain Bat-friend it does end really well. Sadly it takes 3 issues that were also in the Animal Man volume so that was slightly annoying as a I bought both but overall it was really damn good at same time so I won't discredit it here.
I really enjoyed the ending to this run and hope Soule does as good with build up. A 4/5.

Update: Re-read
So I liked it more the second time around. It does feel a little light, and I didn't love any of the characters, but the art is really damn good. I also enjoyed the ending, even if I guessed it, but it does built the town world up nicely. I say it's around a 2.5 but I'll bump it to a 3. Going to read volume 2 now.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Maybe I just didn't gather what the fuss was about but besides some nice artwork I basically was bored half way through. None of the characters clicked with me, none of the situations were interesting, no twist I didn't expect. I didn't care much about the background of "Boss". I just felt like it was all one big setup. Maybe Volume 2 will fair better.

Daredevil: End of Days
Matt Hollingsworth, Klaus Janson, Brian Michael Bendis, Bill Sienkiewicz, David W. Mack, Alex Maleev, Joe Caramagna
I didn't even know about this. This is also coming from a huge Bendis fan (especially his Daredevil run) and now that I finally read it I can say this is like a perfect Swan Song to his run.
The end is here. In the first 10 pages you see Matt's death, and it's heartbreaking, and brutal, and yet near perfect because the only two people who can kill Daredevil should be Kingpin OR Bullseye. They did that justice.
This is a story ABOUT Daredevil but it's Ben's story of going through his rogue gallery really trying to understand what happened. Not so much WHY Matt died but what his last words were. You get to see some of DD's best villains like Owl, Purple man, and even some buddies like Punisher. The little twist was easy to see coming, and the ending a bit cheesy at points, but overall it was really solid.
This might be the best "Goodbye" from a writer I've seen in forever. Bendis obviously loves Daredevil and to give him his own "Send off" in his own world really hits home for a lot of fans of this amazing character.
A 4.5 out of 5.

What's that? Is that a gigantic pile of SHIT!?
OMFG It's dog shit on my e-reader. On no...it's not that. It's...oh my GOD! GUYS!? It's....Justice League....
What is this horseshit I just read? Okay I'll be honest. Issue 1 wasn't bad. I was like "Okay, so they doing the set up, not bad, this can be good" then nope. It goes nowhere. It's filled with boring "bad guys" who look like they belong in the B-reel of Watchmen. You got out of character dialog from multiple characters, biggest offender is Clark and Batman. I hated both of them here. Oh and fuck me, what kind of anticlimactic shit was that?
After the horrid Darkseid War I can say this was just as bad if not worse, because it COULD have been great, and it sucked ass. SKIP THIS ONE.

Supergirl: Book One
Jackson Butch Guice, Bret Blevins, Chuck Dixon, Mike Manley, Jennifer Graves, Robert Teranishi, Dan Abnett, Jason Orfalas, Karl Kesel, Karl Story, Sean Phillips, Prentis Rollins, Leonard Kirk, Dick Giordano, Gary Frank, Andy Lanning, Joe R. Lansdale, Cam Smith, Neal Barrett Jr., Ron Wagner, Terry Dodson, Peter David, Dusty Abell, Robin Riggs, Barbara Randall Kesel
Ah, I tried. I really tried. Are there ANY good Supergirl books to get?
This is just boring. You got this Matrix Supergirl who can shapeshift but combines with a young lady who now becomes Supergirl and Linda Denvers at the same time. I just felt like it was confusing, and characters change on a whim to the plot, and most of the plot is 80's feel of "OH NO BAD GUY BEHIND IT ALL".
I liked most of the art, and the question of purpose, but overall this was a big boring mess of a collection with odd things happening every few issues. Dropping this one sadly.

This was a better volume than the last. It had a lot of backstory about Coach and Boss, and how they became who they were. The history of these characters is grimy, fucked up, and interesting. Some of it is over the top, and sure I don't believe all the dialog at times, but when it hits...man does it hit. The father moment in the forest was amazing and the end result showed us who Coach is.
I think the negative comes from some of the side characters. I just can't seem to connect. I'm hoping it improves there, gives each character a voice, where I can like them or atleast understand what they are about and who they are.
Overall it's a better volume and gives us a much needed look back at our villain, if you can even consider him a fully realized villain. The ending also gets you hyped for the future.

Now this is what I'm talking about. Nice big jump in quality and gives us characters we can love and hate.
You get the individual personalities of a ton of characters here and when you see inside their mind, their life, you really get to know them. The amazing thing is each character feels vastly different, even more so the voices inside their heads give them distinct personalities.
I truly thought this was near perfect except I was sadden by the end, because I felt they could have progressed her story more. It feels like they''re slowly building up, but we could have had another issue of her and made the coach issue just one instead of two for the game.
Overall though the volume is strong, and very much worth reading, this is the best stuff read from Jason Aaron so far!

Re-review:
So I read these as single issues. Not knowing the graphic novels would be skipping every other issue. So this is just current time WW. Which still ain't bad but not a 4 star. Close to a 3, maybe 3.5 by the end. I still enjoyed the end result of current time WW. Especially the final two issues. We get some answers on Steve X Diana, and also the final moment in the last issue is like "Oh shit" moment we've been waiting for.
I'ma keep what I said below but I'm about to do my review of Year One, and let me tell you something, you won't wanna miss it. This one though is fun and still gets a 3-3.5 out of 5.
-----------------------------------------------
Whoa, who knew I'd love this one so much?
So the first issue reads in current time. Something isn't right, Diana goes deep into the forest to find her old "friend" while Steve and his buddies get kidnapped trying to find WW. It's pretty basic stuff, and the first issue was pretty but didn't love it.
Then we get into issue 2. Year one for Diana, and it's amazing! So then the next few issues bounce from Year one to modern. It's great, because the current stuff gets better and better (issue 3 being the best current issue so far) while the Year One stuff is just wonderful every issue.
Watching our awesome Amazon learn about the world, her own, and then the one we live in is great. She's wide eye, happy, and full of joy and happiness. Where's the current storyline is obviously darker, and she's on a mission, and not looking nearly as happy as she once was.
I really enjoyed seeing the two stories play out next to each other. I can't wait to jump into volume 2 and this is the first time I signed on to read a Wonder Woman series. I may have to go back and read the New52 run too and Greg's old WW run after this.

This is the best Batman family title right now.
So Detective comics focuses on the Bat family. The highlights probably being Bat-women and Red Robin. Someone is hunting them, Batman included, and Bruce thinks it's time to create a team. A badass fighting team that includes himself, Red Robin, Batwomen, two old Batgirls (Spoiler/Orphan) and also our fave muddy face pal, clay face! It's a odd team of sorts but gives us some really entertaining dialog and fight scenes.
I also love the ending (Issue 940) as it hits all the right emotions without trying to feel like it's "playing" you. It serves as a great finish to the first arc to draw me in.
If you like the Batfamily this is a no brainer. Go grab this and enjoy! 4/5
